It will be sad to see Lieblingpanzer go- that was one of the best we’ve ever come up with.

I think you could leave that second McKennie out.

Spaghetti Weston sounds good but needs to add either Texas or something Italian to make it Pop

Agreed. No need to repeat any names in the title.

I still think there was something that could have been done with Italian tanks/Fiat references, etc, but I went with the Yank Kid at Torino as an homage to the good ol days of BigSoccer before the crash. A little bit of nostalgia is never a bad thing.

You should take Trump's advice and try to vote twice.

Two articles came out at around the same time; one described McKennie as Tedesco’s new lieblings. And the other described him as a panzer. I put the two together, into lieblingspanzer, and someone else used that to come up with the title.

Since Spaghetti Weston has a true majority I think the outcome is clear.

Little known fact: the Monty Python troupe worked on a skit based on this exact title until they switched it to "nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition". And the rest is history.

Yes, we should include a reference to a cliched Italian food.

Had to look it up, as I only know Abbondanza from the commercial.

"Abbondanza is a word in the Italian language that means 'abundance', but it is much more than just a word, it is a celebration or salutation or at times even used to wish someone good luck as if to say “may your journey/venture/studies be bountiful."

    Abbondanza, Weston!

Edit: But please watch your weight.

Is there no way to work “The Shroud of Turin” into a thread title that works?

So the pace of voting has slowed quite a bit and we have a runaway favorite. Rather than waiting 3 more days (I'm getting pinged by people who want a dadburn decision--any decision!) I'm thinking of closing the thread/voting today and going with the current leader.

I think you will find this more amusing than voting. Our orders are to be sure he does not die, but also make sure he regrets the day he became a moderator. Bungadiri's asleep, I imagine. That's all right, I'll enjoy waking him up.

Okay everybody. I'm closing this thread. It looks like we have a solid choice in the form of "Spaghetti Weston: McKennie at Juventus" (and for those who like complete information I've added a reference to the loan status at the end).
