Was there a player named Choi Sang Kuk on the Korean national team? I have a sticker of a player by that name but can't find any other info about him. It's a pretty old sticker, maybe 1990 or earlier.

I think its supposed to be Choi Sung Guk and if the sticker is from the 90's then its probably him playing for the U-19 team or something.

He's my favourite player as of now. :D

    Not Choi Sung-guk.

Choi Sang-guk played for POSCO in their various guises from 1983 to 1991. He played 158 games in the K-League in that time and scored 32 goals. Won championship medals in 1986 and 1988. He was the top scorer and top assister in the 1987 K-League championship when POSCO finished 2nd.

I don't have any info on his international career, but he didn't play at either the 1986 or 1990 World Cups.

Ah.. he was a squad member at the 1988 Olympics and played in two games - the 0-0 draw with USA and the 2-1 defeat to Argentina.

Now he's the coach of the Howon University football team.

This is the Howon University team he coaches - I believe that's him on the very left in the suit.

Born on February 15th 1961, he had a pretty low scoring career in every season except 1987 when he hit 15... the most he managed in any other year was 4.

He wore number 10 at the 1988 Olympics, and in fact came on as a sub in the first match (against the Soviet Union) so he played in all three games.
Info about his Olympic games is here: http://www.rsssf.com/tableso/ol1988f-det.html
