Final score Chivas 2 America 2. The second Chivas goal may have been given to Johnny Garcia. Depends how the ref saw it. Ramon Ramirez makes a brief appearance at the end. Good to see him back. Big crowd at Pac Bell park. It looked like more and more people kept making it to the game. maybe 35,000. A better first half than the second, still, good stuff from both teams. Once the teams made their substitutions, the game lost some rythm but you had to figure the starters would get some rest. And Blanco got a red card. Will Faitelson get the post game interview ?
Sabah and Blanco shouldnt of gotten booked. It looked worst than it really was. The radio transmission that i heard said that the second goal could have been called offsides due the the deflection. I saw the game on telemundo afterwards but they didnt have a good angle... but oh well The telemundo commentators (longo) said that the stadium was full... I was pleases by the way America played. Fun game to watch... lot of hustle I really like America's younger players. I have mentioned Santiago a Couple times and glad he got some playing time. This kid moved to Canada and played in some tournaments in England where got got voted best player of the tournament back when he was 12-13. When he was 13, he got signed by Bayern Munich and played with thier youth teams. His father said that it was time to go back to Mexico. About a year and a half ago, anaother club from Holland signed him but only stayed with them for 2 -3 months. He was 15 going on 16.. and he just missed home... so he went back to America and goes to school and trains with America. HE is about to turn 18. I think he has done well... debuting at 17...he has alot of potential. He knows how to control the ball and has good vision. thats something i have noticed the few times i have seen him play Paco Torres just keeps impressing me... he is super fast, can control the ball like a veteran, but just knows how to get in position.... his hustle is superb.. I wish the other Torres kid (Nacho) could have played the whole 2nd half... he too has some good abilities.. Infante is getting better and better..... Both Infante and Salinas play left back and both do it well. I would move salinas to left centerback once Ricardo Rojas is gone and put davino on the otherside of salinas.. and let infante and Salinas cover the left side.... Salinas is a better defender, but it looks like Infante can push up more easily...dont want to say that Salinas cant do it either because he has proven that he is able to penetrate up the left flank
I forgot that Telemundo was going to show the match SDD. I caught the second half on TV just a few minutes ago. From what I saw on TV, the stadium was quite full.
Attendance was 38,700. Apparently some areas were closed off for soccer, after all, it is a baseball stadium. I think the total stadium capacity is 45,000. Sounds like we'll be getting more games. I don't know if they'll be getting crowds this big for anything other than Mexican teams. By the way, Peter Bridgewater is the guy that used to be in charge of operating the San Jose Earthquakes for MLS. Looks like he found a better job. This game was good for about 70 minutes.Some people didn't like that they made to many player changes,but i think it was good to see the young talent. I arrived at the game half hour early,it was almost full by that time.At the 10minute the frist fight broke out.3guys that were hardcore chivas fans,got in a fight with like 7 america fans.The chivas fans got kicked out,none from america. 3 more fight happen,but i was to far to see them. Almost at the end of the game,2 girls went at it too,but most of the fans were cool. One funny part was when Oswaldo Sanchez was talking back to the America fans.He also was taliking smack to CUAU. Overall it was a good night..

Santiago Fernández a su corta edad ya ha participado en equipos importantes en el viejo continente y únicamente espera una oportunidad para mostrar la calidad que tiene. Nació el 7 de marzo de 1985 en la capital mexicana. Mide 1.82 y pesa 72 kg. Porta el número 11 y se desempeña como centro delantero. Empezó a jugar futbol desde los 3 años en el colegio. A los 12 se fue a vivir a Canadá y estando en este país tuvo la oportunidad de jugar un torneo en Inglaterra, en donde quedó como mejor jugador y por consecuencia a los 13 años llegó a las filas del Bayer Munich. Únicamente estuvo dos meses en el equipo alemán ya que su padre al darse cuenta de la corta edad que tenía decidió que lo mejor sería que volviera a su país natal: "Yo estaba muy contentó, pero no me decepcioné por regresarme". A su regreso se integró a las filas de Necaxa: "Estuve del 2000 al 2001, nunca me tocó jugar en Tercera, en Segunda pasé pocos partidos, siempre jugué en la división del 85 y a veces jugaba con el segundo equipo". En el 2002 dejó otra vez el país y se fue a Holanda al NAC Breda, pero como se fue solo, no le gustó: "La soledad y yo no nos llevamos, en ese aspecto me la pasé mal. Fue una experiencia muy buena en lo deportivo y en lo personal. Aprendí a valorar todo y ahora que regresé estoy contento porque estoy en uno de los mejores equipos del mundo". El joven americanista enumeró las que considera las diferencias del balompié del viejo continente y el azteca: "Allá es más fuerte y rápido, y aquí el futbol es más técnico y pausado, pero no le pide nada al europeo. El 10 de enero presentaron a Santiago junto con Francisco Torres e Ignacio Torres como los refuerzos para esta temporada: "Ese día casi ni dormí, algo que siempre soñé". Su debut en la Primera División fue el 25 de enero, en la jornada tres contra San Luis donde las Águilas ganaron 4-0: "El primer partido que fui a la banca fue con Chivas y yo pensaba que podía jugar, pero no me tocó. Ya contra San Luis cuando vi que el profe me llamó, no me la creía. Todo lo que me dijo, ni le entendí, yo estaba pensando en hacer bien las cosas y cuando entre a la cancha se me olvidó todo". Acerca de los consejos que le dan sus compañeros el delantero indicó: "Me dicen que tenga mucha paciencia, que esté ubicado. Siempre hay que ser primero una persona y luego un jugador". Asimismo habló del estratega americanista: "Es muy callado, casi no me dice nada, pero yo lo veo y es una persona que te da la confianza, se ve que te está apoyando y cuando me de oportunidad espero no fallarle". Para él concretar una anotación es "una alegría muy grande porque ya que estas jugando y todavía que te toque meter el gol es mejor. Y si con eso ayudas a ganar a tu equipo no tiene precio". Me vengo a entrenar, salgo a la 1 y regreso a la escuela para la última clase. En la tarde me pongo a pasar apuntes y también en las concentraciones". En sus ratos libre le gusta estar con su familia, sus padres y sus dos hermanos -José Manuel y Mariana-. Además ver el futbol español, jugar nintendo y estar con su novia Mariana: "Sin el apoyo de mi familia no podría estar donde estoy, los quiero mucho".
