Word is Tim L. has informed his staff that it's a done deal, Chivas @ HDC in 2005. Of course, Tim has been known to speak out of place.....

Chicagoons are saying the same thign about their city. Anyway there are enough threads about Chivas already, no need for another one!

joeyinfo actually has a track record here. not a lock solid thing you can take it for what it's worth but don't be suprised if you see this post as an unnamed 'source' on Begrin's site within a few hours. but as we've seen with this kidn of thing stuff often changes and very often 'sources' have different information.

Its probably the safest choice to make.

    Good news I say.

As far as I hear it's LA too. The Chicago ranting is much nonsense about very little.

"...I'm pessimistic that (Chivas USA is) going to be in Chicago. (LA is) where Vergara wanted to go from the beginning. The league said no, AEG said no, and then they finally get to a number where they said (maybe) L.A. makes the most sense. I think right now it's pretty unlikely they'll come to Chicago."

I love the phrase "they get to a number"--or was that actually just Vergara telling them "or else NADA"?

Actually joeyinfo is one of the few who is generally reliable, you can check his previous posts if you like.

They should just come out and announce it this weekend and start getting out the new kits. MLS would get some free advertising in the LA area with all the new kits out in the streets

LA makes the most sense for creating the rivalry and you can market the Chivas to all of SoCo

    Midwest, the real one.
Yet, his input has been largely dismissed as being company-speak.

I'll take joeyinfo over Peter Wilt at this stage. Not that Wilt is unreliable, but there are things that he can and cannot say. joeyinfo, being an anonymous source, can let the cat out of the bag if he so chooses.

Why assume that? It took time to negotiate-- I'm guessing there was quite a bit of back and forth...
