Chivas de Guadalajara - DC United, 3/9/04 [R - like it's going to spoil it for you... Okay, we're supposed to play Chivas this afternoon at 2:30 - anyone know what time zone Guadalajara is in? As for results, well, I predict one of two things: 1) We don't score. Chicken Little runs rampant. Doom and Gloom are the order of the day. 2) We score. Pollyanna puts on her finery and hits the street to flaunt it while she's got it.
who's on the global satellite phone getting updates for the PBP thread My prediction: so far we haven't scored
typical... why don't you guys at least wait until the game is over before you start pissing on everything?
Re: gol! we scored one, they scored one ........... 1-1 final ............. glad we got that goal out of the way
Re: Re: gol! Care to elaborate? The goal scorer perhaps? Just curious, how are you getting your info?
At this point a 1-1 draw has become, for me, almost the equivalent of a win. Just don't tell me it was an own goal.
Damn you Benjamin..... I was just starting to feel a little better and then you had to throw that out there..
1-1 against even the reserve team of a good club that is in league form isn't too bad. hopefully they played decently and can use that to push through the last days of camp down there.
I heard that it was the BEST GAME EVER. How the goals were scored: - DCU scored by Fred Adu. No, he wasn't at the game, but he heard that his team was uh, impotent as some posters around here, so he took a ball from his backyard and bicycle-kicked it 2000 miles for the score. The Chivas GK dove the wrong way trying to block it. -Chivas scored right before the final whistle. See, during the whole game, they never advanced the ball into the DC side. EVER. I'm not kidding. So at the end of the game, DCU was feeling sorry for those guys and our 10th string GK Dema the Demolition Man yelled for them to just kick the ball as far as they could; he wouldn't block it. They kicked it; it took three minutes to roll the ball all the way and it stopped just over the end line. Oh yeah, this goal was scored by newly-signed Terrell Owens. Many quotes will follow shortly- all of them showing that this guy is the biggest jackass of all time. So there ya go. Let's see a weeks worth of analysis now.
Well I think it's disastrous that the new regime is sticking to the strategy of playing for a draw on the road. Curses!
Let's see... First game was a 1-0 loss. This game was a 1-1 draw. I suppose that could be considered a positive trend. Didn't someone post that Olsen scored? What does this do for the record when he scores? Was it no losses or we always win when he scores? If it was no losses then the rally continues, I guess.
