I've said years now here Gao Lin creates more than finishes. He and Dong the finisher in Belgium would've come close to replacing the big void left behind by Hao Haidong. Even when we have splendid players like Conca we still see Gao Lin steals the show from time to time by creating and assisting. Unfortunately Dong didn't work out the way it should have otherwise China would have a formidable front line once again.

So there we have it (not a strawman, that has been humped - somewhat weird imagery there):

On the one hand there is a lot of web posting that is positive across the fan base, irrespective of club affiliation, and on the other hand there is a rather "meh" response from others in China.

People are different, even football fans. Funny that.

Hey who knows, with Lippi now being confirmed as GZ's coach and not the NT coach as rumoured before, maybe this all just means Lee Jang-Soo will take over the NT duties (wishful thinking lol).

"the thieves that the province produces in droves" :sneaky:

Shenhua is the embarrassment of CSL. Will average less than one goal per match this season. I would gladly take Lee Jang-Soo as the new manager.

PS. WTF happened to this website. Change is not good.

Screw you man. Jealousy is evil. Just cos Spurs fluffed their season and we're in the CL final. Jealous much :p...oh and yeh good luck keeping your CL spot :p

I have to back teamdragon here, he does know a LOT about Chinese soccer, probably more so than anyone else here (maybe ntg). chengb, you CANNOT determine a striker merely by looking at the amount of goals they score, thats what 'noobs' do. Its about what else they do, supporting midfield, tracking back, defending whilst required, assists. Not everyone is a Iaquinta or Gomez in terms of clinical finishing. Sometimes you need a Drogba to be more of a team player than just goalscorer. From what I've seen of Gao Lin, he's the closest (not great though) thing to a solid striker China has atm.

Lol Dalians GK thought the ref had blown for offside so he sets up the ball for the Jiangsu striker to score an open goal

Hi, I'm an Italian guy (Sampdoria fan) and I love Chinese soccer.
I've a question: it seems that in Dalian Aerbin is drawing more fans than Shide. How is it possible?
Shide has won lots of titles, is older, and so I thought it should have a stronger fan base.
    Am I missing something?

Can someone put both highlights of these games? Jiangsu's controversial goal and the fan attacking the ref? Thanks.

Yeah, intense match. Jiangsu got a goal 1st half, I'll let you find out how. Later on, Dalian got one in .. albeit... sloppy. However, Dalian dominated the 2nd half. A fan attacked a ref for a few seconds and then they started throwing chairs.

My Chinese isn't good enough to go wander to look for video but if you could find it, that'd be great.

i can't answer the question (as my knowledge of the China Super League isn't as deep as other posters)
but if you could answer if Joseph Hu (of Hellas Verona) is Chinese or not I would be very grateful :)
(here's some info of him in italian: http://www.acteamslg.it/Non-svegliatemi.htm)

    I think he's italian:
    http://sada.vinelab.com/?sport=soccer&page=player&id=224238&localization_id=www
In that page he tells about his career, from a little local team (Santa Lucia Golosine) to Hellas Verona (Serie B), where he plays in the young team.
    Here's a page of a match with S.Lucia (2008):
    http://tinyurl.com/7shelp6

From your link, it seems that he's the son of a Chinese immigrant worker (Shun Li, apparently from Shangai) and an italian woman (Cristina).

    Sorry for my English ;)

PS: anyone who could explain the large support for Dalian Aerbin, compared with an historical and winning team like Dalian Shide??

:D Good one, the guy had to go through a running track to do that. It's just ashamed that he couldn't of done that to Zhu Jun instead today.

Anyone found one where both of those incidents are together in one video?
