Xu Liang of Shanghai Greenland will probably retire after a couple serious injuries while Sun Jihai of Guizhou Renhe is out of contract and might be considering retirement as well.
http://sports.sina.com.cn/j/2014-12-09/23157441200.shtml According to multiple reports in China, Beijing Guoan has almost finished agreeing negotiations with VFL Wolfsburg with rumors stating that Zhang Xizhe will sign for Wolfsburg in about a week or less.
I seriously worry for that guy. Bleachers got it right. If he can't dominate in the Asia Champions League, how can he produce in the Bundesliga? I wish him the best of luck but there is a high chance he flops.
Hopefully not. It's always great to see a Chinese player in the top European leagues, but he needs to play well or least decent.
Reports in China now say that Guoan and Wolfsburg have finished negotiations and Zhang will fly to Germany this weekend to ink the deal. Rumors says that he has already received his visa.
Reportedly, the transfer fee that Wolfsburg is rumored to be paying for Zhang is 1.5 million euros (which is pretty reasonable).
Adrian Mutu it's wanted by Guangzhou teams. To be fair, I don't think in this transfer. Sure, he has a great talent and he can make the difference, but he is too old...36...it's too much http://www.digisport.ro/Sport/FOTBA...+de+ani+Adrian+Mutu+si-ar+putea+incheia+carie
Zhang will be in attendance tomorrow afternoon to watch his new club VFL Wolfsburg play against SC Paderborn 07. Wolfsburg is expected to unveil him on December 16 or December 17.
Probably a translator. Zhang has said that he's been learning German, but he's not fluent enough to have a proper conversation yet.
Zhang has gotten a lot of attention from the Bundesliga website: http://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga-tv/inc/video_flv/highlights/0000309192.inc.php (Video - 1:04) http://www.bundesliga.com/en/liga/news/2014/0000309038.php http://www.bundesliga.com/en/liga/news/2014/0000308980.php http://www.bundesliga.com/en/liga/news/2014/0000309004.php http://www.bundesliga.com/en/liga/news/2014/0000309048.php
It's on Wednesday against Borussia Dortmund. I don't think Zhang will play for a week or two because: he's not match fit and he needs to get a bit of chemistry training with the rest of the squad. Plus, Wolfsburg hasn't completely finished signing him though it's about 99.9% done according to their sporting director Klaus Allofs.
I think the transfer window opens on January 1st if i'm not mistaken, so i guess it's not completely official until then. Also Wolfsburg are still in atleast three competitions, the league, the domestic cup and the Europa League, don't know if Germany has any extra competitions outside of those, but Zhang should probably get a few chances when the schedule gets hectic
never expected zhang xizhe would actually sign for a top german team. i haven't seen any good players playing oversea in top league for a long time. the last one i saw was zhang chengdong in portuguese first tier league. i will hold my breath until i see zhang in a wolfsburg jersey with a number.
He played really well on the same team as Zhang Xizhe. A bit worried for Zhang Xizhe considering that Zhang Chengdong couldn't even stick in the Bundeliga 2. That being said, I am fairly optimistic that Zhang Chengdong will be able to get another shot overseas. He is one of the better Chinese players.
It's official. Welcome in Wolfsburg Xizhe #Zhang!All the best for you!#vflwolfsburg pic.twitter.com/wfWOaMPVnS— VfL Wolfsburg EN/US 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 (@VfLWolfsburg_EN) December 16, 2014
Zhang has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Wolfsburg and will join up with the squad in January.
