Chinese players in EPL, week 12. [R]

WBA 1 - Man City 2. Anelka and Goater for Man City. It sounded like Sun didn't have a great game, but one of the radio commentators for Man City's shrillness is really getting to me so I don't really pay that much attention to him.

Leeds 0 - Everton 1. Rooney scored his second of the season. Li Tie played well, and I think he assisted on the goal. He was again subbed toward the end. Everton is now tied for fourth in the EPL.

Next week: City takes on Man U in the big Manchester derby. Everton takes on relegation candidate Charlton.

Sunny played reasonably well. He assisted on City's first goal with a long ball after making a block tackle near his own box.

    Congrats to City and Everton.
City is back on track with 2 away victories.

Everton is really in a great form lately. 9 points for the last 3 matches. Way to go!

It's really important Everton beat Charlton to capitalise on their good run. It would suck to lose to Charlton after beating Arsenal and Leeds.

    Sixth! We're sixth! :D

Li Tie's starting to come into his own a bit ... played some good balls today. Gravesen will still probably get his spot back whenever he comes back from injury, but Li's played well. He should start for the Worthington Cup match at Newcastle on Wednesday.

Gravesen will get his spot back from Linderoth most likely. Well he has started every single game so far so i don't see why he wouldn't start in the worthington cup. From your comment it seams like you think Li Tie has only played a handful of games which is not correct.

But then again, you are an Everton fan so i probably misunderstood your comment.

Li Tie started every game so far, but still no assists and no goals. He has grown an understanding of his teammates and is passing the ball forward more often than before.

Both Li Tie and Sun didn't get assists over the weekend. From the highlights I saw of the Man City game, Sun was no where near for both goals.

There has been rumors of Gravesen being sold to raise the money to sign Rooney.

As long as they keep on starting i've got no complaints about lack of assists and goals. Heck these two can't even score in the Jia A

So you're saying Everton fans are incomprehensible? ;)

I meant that if Gravesen is healthy in time for the match at Newcastle, Li Tie should start anyway.

Hey, maybe Moyes should keep Gravesen on the bench for the next EPL match. Gravesen is a much more complete player. But the Li-Linderoth midfield combination is working good recently. At least they bring good luck to the team. Anyway, I have no complain as long as Moyes puts Li Tie on the field. Hopefully Li Weifeng will get his opportunity for the upcoming Worthington Cup match.

He should make the squad, at least.

Everton rarely do well in the league cup, so they might use this game as a throwaway. Right now Moyes probably wants to keep the first-teamers in top shape for the Premiership schedule (and eventually the FA Cup), so Li Weifeng getting a look mightn't be so far off.

Is that two wins in a row for Man City? Are they out of the relegation zone? I need to start following English football more. I would be stunned if they took out Manlian Dui though.

It might happen. It's kind of hard to predict those derby matches. Sunny is going to score the only goal......just a wish.

Yes two wins in a row, or at least, it was. They are out of relegation zone and they continued their hot streak tonight by losing to Wigan(!), a division 2 team.

From what I can tell Sun was one of the few who actually did okay.

Howey and Distin were injured as well so they will probably have a new defence combination for Man Utd.

    Manlian stinks this season. :)

    My prediction:

    Man U 1 - Man City 2

I don't understand why Keegan used most of his starters for this unimportant cup match. There is the big derby match waiting for them 3 days later. These players should get some rests. Now the fact that 2 of the starting defenders were injured is going to hurt the team for the next match.

    My prediction:
    Man U 0 - Man City 1

Go Mancheng!!! Go teach the $$$$$ empire Manlian a lesson.

Everton lost in the worthington cup. 2-2 at full time, but pistone scored an OG in the Extra time. Li Tie got subbed after 56 minutes but played reasonably well, it was against newcastle by the way

I think Everton won the match against Newcastle.
Pistone scored an OG in the ET, but later on Caldwell handled the ball inside the box area, then Unsworth tied up the score with the penalty. The match went to penalty shoot-out. Everton won 3-2 on penalties.

With so many premiership teams already out of the competition, Everton has a very good chance of advancing deep and pick up an European place the easy way.
