Gao Lin is in the Asian Cup squad, but Zhang Xizhe isn't for basically no reason whatsoever. Viewership on CCTV? No idea.

China had better win today. We do not want the past two Asia Cup's scenarios to happen again. Do well and win 1st game, fight for a disappointing draw in game 2, then get thrashed in game 3 and bow out of the group stage.

Honestly all 4 teams looked unconvincing in the opening game with North Korea looking terrible. I kind of blame the weather, they had by far the worst weather during their game, but North Korea didn't look like they had a real gameplan as opposed to the past North Korean teams. Usually they park the bus but against Uzbekistan they were somewhat inbetween and just looked out of focus. Hopefully it wasn't just opening game nerves and that they'll keep playing that way against us in the last game because we all know how much we struggle against teams that park the bus. The key game is against North Korea, which we must win, any point we can gain today against Uzbekistan is a bonus.

four years ago, another china vs uzbekistan game. it was high tempo and ended as 2-2.

hope this year, we can get our revenge.

Solid first half with both teams content with preserving energy for the last game it seems. Uzbekistan scored off a deflection, can't really complain considering Yu Hai's goal against Saudi Arabia. China seems to be able to create chances whenever we set our minds to it which is nice to see, only thing that's been dissapointing is our crosses. We should be able to get a goal in if we just get our crosses right in the second half as Uzbekistan is content on giving us possession and keeps letting us cross

From what I've seen the Uzbek goalkeeper, Nesterov is a puncher and China really need to exploit this weakness. In the N Korea game despite only having few chances, when they whipped in a couple of decent crosses they really scared the Uzbek defence.

Told you the goalkeeper was a puncher and that's what often happens if you don't catch it.

Excellent assist by Gao Lin, and Wu Xi finally scores, his finishing is usually bad but this time he got it
