Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Yo sólo pido que si Alexis juega bien con el Barca, lo haga tanto o mejor con la Selección.

Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Looking at the game and the forums, looks like Alexis did quite well.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..)
(R) (News, etc..) It's not everyday that I get to see a player debut in a Superclasico. I think he did pretty well considering.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Alexis had a very good debut. DEBUT. His teammates and the media in Spain all agree that it didn't seem like it was his first game. I love the fact that it doesn't matter if it's Tocopilla or the Bernabeu, he plays his game and doesn't feel the pressure. He's only gonna get better and Spain, as a league, is much weaker than the Serie A.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) X2. I would have urinated myself if I had to make a debut against R.Madrid, in the Bernabeu no less. He played very well, specially in defensive duties.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Beg your pardon?

Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) There's usually a big dip after RM and Barza... this year might be different, though, with Pellegrini's Malaga and Bielsa's Athletic.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) That happens in just about every league and I think it's far-fetched to say that the Serie A is better than La Liga at this point in time.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Nah, Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A all have more than 2 teams that have a realistic shot at the title. The dominance of the big two in Spain mimics what happens in Scotland with Celtic and Glasgow Rangers. Don't think it is far fetched at all. But like I said, this year might be different. One can only hope... if it wasn't for the Chileans I wouldn't watch La Liga.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Still, the Serie A is not better than La Liga.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) La liga is divided into two competitions: 1. Real Madrid vs. Barcelona 2. Everyone else fighting for 3rd place The Serie A is a much more tactical league where with much less space to play than La Liga. Every other game you're looking at Roma, Inter, Fiorentina, Lazio, Napoli, Milan, Juventus, Parma etc...there's maybe 3 or 4 "small" clubs but even Udinese as of late is right up there with the big boys. Besides El Derby, what other tough games are there to play in la Liga? Malaga with Pellegrini might cause some headaches but nobody is touching the top two. It's almost as bad as Scotland with Rangers and Celtic...or Chile with the 3 from Santiago. Italy and England are the most balanced leagues in my opinion and I hope Alexis, once he's won everything in Barca, moves on to Chelsea or Man United afterwards. Just my 2 cents...
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Eso...I'll watch Sevilla games just to see Gary and Barca just to see Alexis...the rest of la Liga is more boring than watching my soup get cold.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) La Liga is the best league in the world right now and Spain are the WC champions appearantly this should've happen back in the 50's.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) hmm, to each his own i guess. I actually like to watch La Liga before other leagues. Serie A in second place.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) The whole "what league is better" discussion is very interesting but in order to really analyze it and determine which league is best after all some parameters need to be defined. Barca and Madrid may indeed run essentially be the only contenders for the La Liga title but even teams like Atlético Madrid have gone far (even onto become champions) in continental competitions, which could be one parameter in itself. There is also the issue of attendance and perhaps competitiveness within the league. Competitiveness means how many clubs actually have a legit shot at the title. In the Bundesliga for instance, there is always Bayern Munich year in, year out but generally speaking there are no dynasties. The example used from Italy--implying that teams like Parma, Napoli, Lazio, etc. are competitive--is a bit far-fetched. Sure: these teams have given the bigger guns headaches in recent times but besides the 2 Milan teams and Juventus (prior to the Calciopoli scandal), Serie A has strictly been a 2-horse race (maybe 3-4, tops) and even then the title has not changed hands much recently. The top half English clubs--with major financial resources at their disposal--probably have the best legitimate shot at going deep at continental level. After Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea one can count on Liverpool, Spurs, City to name a few. Heck, even Fulham had a deep run in the Europa League 2 seasons ago (the Europa League being the relative equivalent to the Copa Sudamericana).Obviously after that, there is a huge drop in quality: we're talking the Blackburns and Stokes of the league, for instance. There is a huge difference between a league being "good" or "the best" and a league one likes to watch for many different reasons. Personally, I can watch any games from the EPL and the Bundesliga. When it comes to Serie A, I really only get up to watch Inter; same with Ligue Un and Marseille; and with La Liga I try to watch Málaga and Villarreal, and hopefully this year even Bilbao.
Re: Chilenos en España (Alexis Sanchez, Bravo, Medel, Orellana, etc.) (R) (News, etc..) Yes, parameters are helpful. However, personal taste might blur some of the objectivity... I've seen this very topic discussed many times in many places and there's never a clear answer which is why I question sweeping statements. Sevilla and Valencia would probably be better examples... nevertheless, Italy has had multiple teams win the UEFA/Europa Cup, more teams than Spain. Same thing applies to England. Of course, you could be referring to the last 5 years while I could be looking at a more extensive range of time... perhaps that could be another parameter? The relevance of attendance is a little inflated. Bundesliga is the league with best attendance and Serie A with the lowest (among the important leagues, to clarify) ... in today's world, teams acquire funds from so many sources that I don't see how it significantly adds much to the quality of the game. I mean sure, it's cool to see people sing and jump during a game but to me personally it is not a determining factor when deciding to watch games. You are all over the place here. A 2-horse race is vastly different from a 4-horse race and it should definitely make a difference in a league's competitiveness. In Italy the title hasn't changed hands recently but you could say the same thing about every league. However, throughout Serie A's history (and before it too) the smaller teams have been strong protagonists and not just to a local level... the number of Italian teams that have won the UEFA/Europa Cup is impressive and this level of competition is still apparent today with teams like Udinese, Palermo and Fiorentina. Inter, AC Milan, Juventus (they are getting the shit back together, apparently) and Roma are usual candidates to go far in continental competitions. Yep, Premier League is extremely competitive. If I was forced to decide, I'd probably choose Premier League as the 'best' despite it not being my favorite to watch.
