That Libertadores match sounds like quite the event. BTW, it looks to me like there's a small typo on Day 1 of the log -- I expect you had that delicious chipped beef meal at 12:30 am; not 12:30 pm as shown.
In another forum, someone posted that we would be training (friendly games?) against Colo Colo, U de Catolica, Palestino, and one other team. Will we get to face quality competition or only "C" teams?
depends a little on their schedule...but the idea is to face no less than an A plus B team, where half the players are regular starters. These deals are hard to make, and "promises" don't hold much water. The reason they went back to Chile is that of all the places they have trained, Chile was the place they got to play mostly A and B players, while other countries promised a lot and delivered little.
The Burn are scheduled to play Colo Colo today. Since they played in the Copa Libertadores just 2 days ago, it's likely the Burn will face mainly Colo Colo reserves.
Thanks for in the in-depth game report. A couple of questions: 1) I noticed Johnson's name didn't appear in the match report. Is he recovering from an injury? 2) Was this a "C" squad that Colo Colo fielded, or did some of their "B" players play as well?
great match reports!! colo colo kind of fell apart i guess, all the goals came close together. theres a ugandan embassy in chile?? whod have thunk it? will gbandi ever play?
Johnson is still rehabbing. Colo Colo fielded their U-23 team. I got conflicting reports as to if this was their "reserve" team or not.
He was going to play but his ankle was bothering him from the day before and they didn't want to risk it. He does not really have an ankle injury, he just took a slight know and wanted to hold off for a day. He has been going in full training all week here.
Suarez & O'Brien rooming together. How about you hide a microphone in there and post some conversations as WAV files! Those two crack me up.
Buzz, I can't imagine it's gonna do wonders for your partnership with the Burn and the league if you keep linking their players to talk about Dirty Sanchezes. That is, assuming anyone in the league or team HQ knows what Dirty Sanches is slang for. I mean, as funny as you or I or DJ might think it is, it's not exactly the kind of wholesome act the league wants to project.
It's not exactly like they're linking to these reports on MLSnet. But, if the price is you don't get to make Chile trips anymore, that would suck, but I'd rather 3rddegree stay the INDEPENDENT voice of the Dallas Burn. (not that my opinion really matters) great report! What's your take on Shavar Thomas?
i just have to add after having read all the reports, that this is great stuff. first rate. classy stuff. enjoyed every second of it. AND I'M ENVIOUS AS HELL. and i don't know what a dirty sanchez is (a drug reference?) but i'm probably better for not knowin'...
