I see Castillo and Henriquez being options in our NT attacking third sooner rather than later and with guys like Munoz possibly settling with moves to UAE, it will be even easier for them.

UC is going to make a boatload of money off Nico.

I agree. Especially, when you consider that he took this U20 NT after Carvallo's abrupt abandonment and worked with it. Also, he's already had a better World Cup debut in comparison to Sulantay. I don't want to take it too far, so I'll wish him a better run for the next one.

I agree with the criticism on Rabello. Same goes for the thumbs up for Henriquez, who worked hard.

But if we keep believing that we didn't deserve to win anyway, we're limiting ourselves. I'd like us all to adopt a thinking one day that says, "We didn't deserve to win; we played like s***, but we won, so the rest is history."

The players that I feel most sorry for are our centre-backs, particularly Lichnovsky, because they worked their asses off to cover the mistakes of our mids and full-backs a great deal. I feel for them because they deserved better; in any other unit, I think they'd have worked just as well and would be resting up for the semi finals.

When will we learn to close the lines, to battle and scrap, and close the game out and live to tell the tale?

Interesting that, if a team like Uruguay gets 18 shots to 41 and win in extra-time, they think they're legendary. In the same position, we'd still be talking about us not deserving victory.

On a brighter note, a few of these guys are ready for some fine-tuning before stepping into the senior national team. We have a generation here that could be ready to fulfil senior roles when the time comes.

Well I am not feeling sorry but honestly and objectively, it's hard to argue that overall Ghana were the better team. Wouldn't you agree? Sure, they scored a goal on the last play but it wasn't like that was their only attempt to score in those last few minutes.

Like I said on the "conclusion" thread, for a country that hadn't been to a U20 WC in 6 years, going to ET in the QFs against a powerhouse team in this age group is not that bad.

You know what Chewie? I woke up this morning and I was thinking the same thing as you.

I think this team was meant for more. Granted, like Metro said, there was no denying Ghana played a hell of a game and are a great team at this level (there may be corruption involved), but we can't say we didn't have it in the bag either. Like Chewie says, we gotta adopt this Uruguayan mentality.

That having been said, having been a long time chilean fan, I'm used to this sort of thing happening, and it's almost a defense mechanism to say we made it farther than we could. It makes it hurt a little less.
