Apparently according to FIFA. http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/statis...index.html#statistical+stars+from+group+stage Top speed Mexico's Javier Hernandez has offered a glimpse of what Manchester United fans can expect next season, reaching a top speed of 32.15 km/h, putting him just ahead of Greek duo Avraam Papadopoulos and Konstantinos Katsouranis. The leaders: Hernandez (32.15 km/h), Avraam Papadopoulos (31.57), Konstantinos Katsouranis (31.50)
he made a few goals and helped us play with balls against teams like el salvador and T&T. a great play maker that doesn't get playing time with his team.
This doesn't mean Vela/Gio/Barrera aren't faster, it just means Chicharito has the fastest recorded sprint during this World Cup. It makes sense since he was usually chasing through ball/long ball attempts, while Vela and the rest were usually closed down quickly since they play on the wings. Not to mention that Vela only played the first game(partially even). edit: and Nery is(was?) obviously faster than any of our current forwards.
This topic ain't about Nery, but the haters need to chill, were not good enough to think we are too good to help this kid get his career together. It is wise to try and rescue him. Vasco did this for Guishe because we had no other 9, but who wouldn't have prefered an in form Nery in SA?
mexcellence has a point that this thread isn't about nery. this thread is about our up and coming striker who has shown he has the potential to be our future. let's keep it that way actually, because he is in my starting eleven with nery. carry on with chicharito.
i think that gio, vela, barrera, venado and maybe guardado are still faster than him, at least they seem to accelerate much quicker, not too mention theres players like cristiano ronaldo who is apparently the fastest player in the world. although its still good news to hear that our future number 9 has some speed too
true that jjaj how fast would you say he is in relation too messi? from what ive seen his top speed is faster though messi seems be quicker in the first 20 yards or so
There is a solution to all this guessing and debating. Just have them all line up and race or set up a American Football style combine prior to the world cup to have a good understanding of the measurables.
