it seems like the other Chicago thread is mostly girls so I thought I would start a new thread for boys discussion.

Anything new and exciting on boys side? Any high school fans?

So girls' football is more popular in Chicago than boys' football?

No, I don't believe so. Just a bit more vocal here.

For every clubs girls teams, most clubs have double the amount of boys teams.

My boy is 9u, and there just isn't much for me to talk about at that age.

How good are the boys ECNL programs in the Chicagoland area - Magic, Eclipse, Inter and Rockford? Are they comparable to FC United and Sockers ?

Eclipse has punted on fielding competitive boys programs it seems like. It's an absolute disaster there in terms of organization. They only care for the girls program. Go check the soccer rankings app. Many aren't even top 7-8 in the state. Their pre ecnl teams don't show well either.

You're a top player (male) - your at Fire MLS as a starter or at Sockers. Been that way for more than a decade.

Sockers numbers however are large. Your player will excel there even on a 2nd or 3rd team. Coaches on the boys side are for the most part - excellent.

Where do you go in Wisconsin to play to get the best coaching if you have a boy that could turn into a top player?

To me it would depend on age and how far you are from higher level clubs. What level he is playing now? Is he the best on the field?
