We won, but I am pissed off. Not at the way we won. We could have put a lot more goals in the net. But I am pissed cause of the way that security was acting. And that parents were sitting in our section and complaining about us. Mr. Wilt, were is the disclaimer about our section? I have always defended Naperville for the convenience factor and a packed stadium. But now I really want Soldier Field.

Thats bastard wanted to kick me out for yelling security sucks.

But at the end this one guy next to me threw a cup with some drink in it and some of it went oh him. He should have gotten knocked out tho. I can't wait to get back to soldier field where thers beer and not that many parents who sit by section 8 with their stupid kids.

Very good showing overall by the Fire. Probably closer than the score made it look. A few thoughts:

You had to be happy for Kelly getting that goal after not playing well all year and hitting 2 posts tonight.

Perez had a miserable first half. On TV it looked like he had made a conscious decision not to play any defense.

Great showing by Ante. Hell, he even played some good defense. His second goal was the same move and the same shot he used Saturday against NY

    Fantastic that Jesse is back.

Section 8: Great sound in the first half.Dallas TV crew must've taken mic away at half time. I swear I heard 4 eight year old girls chanting Let's go Fire.

    BOO

    I said BOO

Stupid Lady: "My kid is hearing what you are all saying/chanting."
    Sec 8: "Then move."
Stupid Lady: "I'll just get security."

    I am still pissed off.

Nope, we all decided to shut up and protest. After HalaMadrid got excorted out, there were many people following him out in protest also.

Pissed that we gave up a goal to the girl from Dallas, but other than that it looked like Dallas had no clues. Did Kreis play tonight?

As for Gray, damn unlucky and hopefully this is the sign of things to come.

I have yet to see the Fire lose this year, I'm 4-0, maybe 5 and I don't have the shootout - stupid comcast.

Anyone want to help me pay for my flight to Chicago for the playoffs and any trips to LA :D

    You forgot:
    Sec 8: PHUCK YOU! :)

  9. I've made my opinion known to FIRE management that Section 8 in NSF should be behind the south goal, and the family section should be behind the north goal. It looks like it isn't going to happen that way. Why not put some kind of disclaimer that Section 8 is PG-13 because of language? If you don't want your precious little darlings to hear bad language, SIT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

That day will come a hell of a lot sooner if Section 8 tickets are bought up by true supporters who want to stand and yell the whole match. It's a real shame that this crap has to mar what was otherwise a fine performance by the boys in red tonight.

Note: There is a disclaimer on Section 8, no?
Sweet home Chicago. Just because Fire move to Naperville the chanting must be bush league too? This is why...getting madder....must stop typing....

A great win for the Fire. I was at the match (in Section 103). Razov and Ralph played well together and it was nice to see Kelly score after hitting the woodwork twice. Now if we can FINALLY win our third in a row against KC on Saturday night!

4-1 and could have easily been more if not for the post/Grey or the second obvious PK that wasn't called.

That Fire jersey flag looked very cool after Ante's first goal.

Did anyone notice the exchange between Ante and Dave S. toward the end of the game? It looked like coach was trying to pull Ante to which Ante refused. It looked pretty heated. Of course then he went and scored again as if to say "see coach, don't even think about it." Generally I'd be all over a player for that type of disrespect to the coach but damn, the guy is hot right now. No way I'd consider pulling him from the lineup.

And from the few posts I've read regarding section 8 tonight I guess that explains why it got so quiet in the second half. I was wondering what happened. I'll be interested to read the onslaught of posts in the coming days. What exactly happened?

Sorry Pyro, but do you actually think that the city will build a new stadium for the Fire?? Naturally, I'm all for Bridgeview.

The lady didn't start to complain until after the (hysterical) person behind me started to boo. If you're going to have trouble with "boo" then my goodness, take a look at a Naperville Little Leauge game.

Section 8 should be a designated supporter's section, and from what I understand it is. Shouldn't something be implimented that if a customer purchases tickets to that section, they are told of what will go on so that the customer has the choice to sit elsewhere?

I've never been a fan of YSA, but I did not think that the "escorted" party (hehe, Liam) was doing anything wrong.

Being from Naperville, I know this town. The lady was overreacting and the problem could have easily been solved by moving her family.

Personally, I think it's all fine to rib the opposing team, but not so fine to use profanity. It was a little too quiet tonight. Unfortunately, I cannot see what happened in Section 8 since I am towards the other end of the field.

Ralph, razov and williams played very well. I really like how ralph controls the ball and takes it away from defenders. We sometimes have trouble clearing the ball away from in front of our own goal. No way dallas should have had that many shots on that play before they finally did score. Nice assist by futagi on gray's goal. Watched the tape and I guess the ref just didn't want to give two penalty kicks to the fire in a row. Razov looked like he was not only initially tripped by their goalkeeper but then hit from the back by their defender.

I think the city will provide land for the Fire or the Fire will survive at the revised Soldier Field. It may actually turn out to be a decent soccer venue. I mean, you'd have to be right on top of the action given the way they slammed 15,000 tons of steel inside the original dimensions of the stadium, but thats another threat.
This kicking out of the fans that spend all their cash on new Fire merch and travel to MLS Cups (regardless of if the Fire are playing or not) and road matches is really bothering me. Naperville SUCKS! The best part about being in the old SF is that if you wanted to sit in a section by yourself and scream you could. We don't have that luxury. I have NOT gone to Fire games in Naperville because I know that my vocal take on the game may not be appreciated by the good folks out there. You suck passion out of MLS soccer and what do you have ..... the friggin contrived Mighty Ducks and scoreboards telling me to clap!

  19. Dave is looking ahead to Saturday's match. Ante may be playing his best soccer ever. Come Saturday, they'll be on the same page.

Well, a great win, but since the atmosphere is just as important (at least to me) as the game, Im a little dissapointed.

-Im not sure how legit that first penalty was, but we'll take it.
-We should have gotten that other penalty just minutes later too, but I can see where that wasnt gonna happen.
-I thought Williams and Ralph had stong games again, a few missed touches I saw but they provided some pressure nonetheless
    -Jim Curtin rules
-Good to see Gray score, especially since he seems to have been struggling as of late
-As soon as Razov went to his left on that last goal, I knew it was gonna be in the net.

I dont know what to say about the whole security issue. I really wonder what is wrong with some people, where they have to complain about hearing bad language at a SPORTING EVENT. And im not saying that sporting events are an open forum for profanity, but do people really not expect to hear any bad language at all? Isnt it one of those things that just kinda is expected to happen? What made me mad tonight was how the whole thing was arranged. First the secuity guards are right behind the goal, then the dude is right in front of section 8, then he walks up the stairs, then he calls back-up, then they take Liam out. Obviosuly just looking for a scapegoat to appease whoever was complaning. Did everyone notice that as soon as they kicked him out, they stopped patrolling the section? All they wanted to do was kick one guy out to show who was in control and to show what they could do. The rest of the game the guy was lauging and joking with the kiddies in the first few rows. And get this, after the Dallas goal, and the BS chant, one of the security guards was virtually egging on some guys to keep up the chant so he could be free to do whatever. Unbelievable. I know security is just there to do a job but c'mon. Maybe they should have Xanax night so everyone in Naperville can chill out and take it easy. Nothing your kids dont hear everyday at school.

Great job Fire. The team makes me proud to be a fan.

As for the other crap that happened tonight, I'm so pissed off I am almost at a loss for words. I have defended, not naperville so much, but section 8 in naperville. I have thought for the most part we were allowed to do our thing and we have. But after that debacle last night I am done saying anything good about the Naperville experience. I am also done bringing people to Naperville. I will start bringing people again when we get back to SF. I have probably brought over 100 people to games since we've been in naperville. I had two people with me this evening. I was emberassed at what happened. I told my friends to expect a passionate fun soccer crowd and this was what they got. Emberrassing. And Liam didn't even do much swearing, if any. He made plenty of remarks but the language was pretty clean, from him at least.
The Security or the management or whoever put their most loyal fans in between a rock and a hard place. Do we support the team we love or do we support one of our own. We sat down to make a statement for our section. Take notice Mr. Wilt. Fix it before it breaks anymore. We deserve that much.

fascist security. They were on a complete power trip tonight.

It really is ridiculous what had to happen a few hours ago. If it wasn't for the win, my night would have been worse. It seems the best solution would be the complete separation of the family section from the supporters section. It doesn't make sense having one of our people being plucked out of OUR section, because someone who should have known what to expect from this section couldn't handle the content. We should just chant *bleep, bleep*

Let's hope something gets worked out before the move back to SF. Man, I wish it's October already.

    You guys have short memories.

It wasn't quite to this level, but there was plenty of crap from security regarding swearing at Soldier Field too.

as an 8 year player, i can safely say you'd be amazed what you'll hear.

as far as this evening goes, i think everything that needed to be said has been said. it would be something else to see a further 'protest' at the next game, maybe total silence/sitting down/whatever but that's borderline over-the-top and i highly doubt it would ever happen.

on the plusses, razov seems to be unstoppable (and is anchoring my fantasy team quite nicely), i'm sure the jersey flag looked fantastic, and i met some people that i had only known by BS names this evening, which is always nice.
