Hey, they starting to interview for staff and interns. Below is the link. http://www.womensprosoccer.com/soccer_ektid218.aspx
sorry, didn't see this question earlier for some reason. i get name proposals EVERY DAY!! Most don't fit our three criteria 1)non-feminine, 2) not a diminutive of the Fire and 3) should reflect the character, culture, personality and/or history of Chicago. We'll likely launch a Name the Team Promotion March 1st where we'll list some potential names and solicit additional ideas. Feel free to start a thread or add suggestions here. peter
hmmm...with Vienna Beef as a jersey sponsor! The one Fire related name i kinda liked was Chicago 1871. In the end, it prolly won't hold up...better than 1836 i personally like traditional sounding names that are not direct Euro rip offs i.e. i like "Chicago Union", but not "Chicago United" (unless a certain local airline would care to make an annual seven figure contribution) . i also don't like animated logos or cartoony/gimmicky names (Ice Hogs etc.).
Since I don't seem to be getting an answer to "what's wrong with being feminine?"...I went right to the source and asked my friend Shontee, she thought for a second...made a pose like a bodybuilder and said, "because we're rough" and giggled...now I understand...
Or the Chicago Chics (as in 'baby chickens') Yes...the 'Chicago Pants' would be much more intimidating.
Peter, Are you going to try to have Saturday night games, maybe when the Fire is out of town. I think night games will bring more people out then day games. Just my opinion.
Absolutely. Reviewed the TP calendar with TP management recently and playing majority of games on Saturday night with others on Sunday evenings seems doable.
we'll decide internally pretty soon, but for various reasons we won't name the coach for a month or two.
Is it an up and coming National Coach prospect who has strong Chicagoland (Northwest suburbs) ties? Brett Hall is one of the names I'm thinking. Another one has yet to be mentioned but has led the best girls' club for a string of years. Just curious and searching for hints.

Peter, You are doing great and keeping the fans to be in touch with the process. The foundation is set now there just has to be butts in the seats. I think there will be. We live over three hours away but I promise to be in attendance a couple times a year.
That was a interesting article. Peter, those soccer balls look familar. Were they from your first job as a GM?
Good eyes! Those are indeed Kendis Soccer Balls which were used in the NPSL - those specific balls are not from that era though.
You know I'll be there Peter. Next season will be upon us in no time. Less than a year. I assume more information will be coming soon and things will be snowballing as we get into the summer and especially once the Olympics are over.
