I think have streets that are "local traffic" (for parking) and for bicycles only would be a better solution.
Drivers like this because it doesn’t actually work. What DOES work are safe streets on the busiest roads because they keep everyone safer AND increase business traffic and revenue.
It’s crazy in a country that supposedly values life as much as ours that people just shrug and act like traffic fatalities are a fact of life we can’t drastically reduce. And when common sense initiatives like the ones proposed in the screenshot are discussed, people lose their gdodamned minds if there’s any possibility that it might result in them taking so much as a second longer to get to their destination or find a parking spot when they do. Reducing the spread limit alone would save lives, including the lives of drivers(!) and yet the mere mention of it causes a not-insignificant amount of drivers to fall into a complete meltdown. Maddening.
You could say the same thing about gun violence. You could say the same thing about school shootings. You could say the same thing about domestic violence. I am beginning to sense a pattern here and that pattern is that this country really does not value life very much.
Laura Loomer is claiming it was the Iranians...with the help of the Russians. If you cannot trust Laura Loomer...
It’s always something odd with this current administration…Patel said all of FBI’s resources are being made available to investigate Lindsey’s passing, which was both reported as a sudden illness and as a heart attack.
Yeah, but if all of the FBI's resources are being directed to investigating Graham's death, then gee, they can't investigate ICE killing the Houston guys death and they'll just have to take ICE's word on what happened.
Yeah, but, . . . as loathsome as you may find him Lindsey Graham was a United States Senator and any suspicious circumstance should be investigated. Hopefully there will be little light between what actually happened and what fits any blowhard's narrative. I fear, the biggest blowhole may define the narrative.
The preliminary findings, released by Graham’s office, found that Graham’s death was caused by “aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.” Aortic dissection is a life-threatening medical emergency where a tear occurs in the inner wall of the aorta, the body’s main artery. So he was old with a bad heart, then he got worse and died. https://www.politico.com/news/2026/07/12/grahams-office-releases-preliminary-cause-of-death-00994310
Or this: “Additional details of Graham's trip made it seem likely that he actually died in Kyiv, possibly while he was traveling back to the U.S., Johnson noted.” Disturbing new theory about Lindsey Graham's death floated by ex-CIA officer https://www.rawstory.com/lindsey-graham-2677208542/

Tortoises can live a long life. US Senator Mitch McConnell says absence due to fall and pneumonia https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvge2nd611zo They even held up a newspaper for "proof of life," that Jeff Bezos rag The Washington Post. With Lindsey Graham kicking the bucket, they had to show Mitch McConnell's corpse was still somewhat animated, I guess.
So tonight's address from the White House should amplify how much they have no intention of giving up power regardless the opinion of the collective that is American voters.
They're gonna try. My guess he wants to turn up the heat on his GOP sycophants to pass his voting bill.
Italians: Looks like the joke is on you now. "Andy Burnham will take over from Sir Keir Starmer as Labour leader on Friday, after winning the support of the party's MPs. It means he will soon become the UK's prime minister - the seventh in the last 10 years." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clyv9qe6wj7o
Looks like there is some pushback to the plan to use TIF money for the parking lot and other infrastructure improvements for the new stadium. https://www.axios.com/local/chicago...funding-plan-west-loop-backlash-conway-dowell
