BTW, he is tighter with the IRGC and is in favor of developing nukes, unlike his father. It doesn't look likely this man will be talking peace any time soon.

 

Possibly what the current admin wanted, to justify a longer more drawn out war and provide an excuse to do whatever they want to do with regards to oil and immigration. Build some more pipelines, deport some more people innocent people, and even though that has nothing to do with anything, his people will lap it up.

The elder Khamenei didn't want to take the final step to build nukes and he didn't want to be succeeded by Motjaba. Taking him out means we probably have to deal with both.

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under POTUS and DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.
