If we're not going to do anything, we shouldn't threaten to, since people die thinking we will.

Bears moving to Indiana is becoming far more likely. This is a way better deal for the City of Chicago than Arlington Heights in every possible way. The new stadium site is much closer to downtown Chicago, and given how shitty Northwest Indiana is any and all dollars spent by anyone heading to a Bears game will still largely be spent in the city. I love our neighbors picking up the bill for the shiny new stadium. It's not like we're losing any tax basis, we just don't have to pony up $$$ for infrastructure. The biggest winner is Skyway Concession Company, LLC which holds the 99-year lease for the Skyway.

FWIW, I received a fairly detailed survey from the BEARS inquiring my views about a 'Bears destination campus' in Indiana.
IMO, it was more than an exploratory level...the questions were force ranking things like hotels, golf(!), restaurant mall(?), concerts/festivals, gambling, tailgating (before and after), amount of time I'd dedicate to a day/visit, etc.
Seems they think folks will dedicate at least a half day for each visit.

Reminds me of Landek and his plans for Bridgeview. Nothing they build is going to be able to compete with downtown Chicago. My guess is this will be like an the other stadiums that had these plans to sell it to the public, only to see nothing of it. Gillette II.

I'm not really sure where I should post this or even IF I should? Maybe I shouldn't and the ball sucking mods can figure it out but one thing is for sure I couldn't keep a story this bizarre to myself since it came across my feed. Sure to go viral by tomorrow.

14 News: Owensboro man arrested in Muhlenberg Co. for sexual abuse of an animal
"Central City Police say a driver called 911 to report seeing a man having sex with a dead deer on the side of the road."

This is the kinda crap that 'gets me going'....well crafted deception....I mean why would anyone not agree with VoterID?

Unfortunately it's way more than that....I have female friends that are being notified (after decades of being registered) their voter registration is invalid...and when they go to correct it they are being told 'too late for this election'!

If I didn't directly know someone dealing with this I probably would be 'meh, fake news'...sh!ts real.

Democracy is something to beat yer chest over, until your not going to win elections.
Besides, if it's mainly low income people who don't look like me, well.....

Um, isn't the unprovoked assassination of a head of state, no matter how big a dirt bag, is problematic and could open a whole Pandora's Box?

I knew the strait was 'a key shipping' corridor....but wow...that's a lot of ships in a small space.

I'm only going to say this:

I feel like I'm living in the dumbest timeline. I'm so disappointed with what's come to pass in this country. I feel like I've aged 10 years in the past 1 year and 2 months. Thoroughly disgusted.

  19. Back in the day I recall hearing if one supertanker was sunk in the middle of the main shipping channel of the straight it would be blocked. I don't know if that's true, but it can't be far from that.

More than 200 ships are in a traffic jam outside the Panama Canal, showing we can't get through a year without big boats getting stuck

Observation: Depending how this unfolds, this isn't good for Russia's drone supply for attacking Ukraine.
