They threw a canister of tear gas at a two year old.

Video was released of ICE ramming the lady's truck who they eventually shot. She was not impeding them from doing their work but she was shot.

But both sides are responsible and we should do nothing.

National Guard arrives in Illinois against the request of a judge but we won’t do anything about it. And that’s something you celebrate?

The judge essentially stated it was unwise for the National Guard to be deployed prior to Thursday's hearing (according to Gov. Pritzker last night), but that there is nothing stopping it until Thursday's hearing. The judge was not going to issue an injunction until she could hold a substantive hearing.

I skimmed through the complaint (it is 69 pages in length). It is well reasoned and the nine counts make sense.


“If I were the federal government, I’d strongly urge holding off until Thursday,” she said of the plan to activate troops. But she [Judge April Perry] added, it’s “up to them.”

“This is all part of a concerted effort to target disfavored jurisdictions that the president doesn’t like,” Wells [Christopher Wells of the Illinois attorney general] said, urging a temporary restraining order before the federal government “hostilely deploys troops from another state to a sister and equally sovereign state.”

Though she denied his request, Perry sided with Wells’ contention that the Trump administration’s request for an entire week to respond to the lawsuit was “ridiculous” given “they have been planning this for months.”

This reminds me of when, during a demo against U.S. foreign policy in Central America downtown, a Chicago cop told my buddy, who was wearing a Mao hat, "I shot scum wearing that hat in Viet Nam", spit on Joe and then arrested him for A ssaulting an Officer, by supposedly spitting on the cop.

Everything old is new again.

 

Watch for the Feds to try to move these trials out of Chicago to a "friendlier" jurisdiction. It won't (shouldn't, but) happen, but watch them try.

It was a shooting in Chicago and the Chicago police aren’t going to investigate? It must have been a black or brown person that was shot.

 

What I thought when I saw the video

The government is trying to gin up a 'crisis.'
There is NO doubt that they will use the videos to justify why they need to be in Chicago.

 

Except from what the defendants attorney described the body cam videos incriminated the Feds more than the defendant.

 

Yes, it did, from what I have read.

I was thinking from a larger perspective.
It is abundantly clear at this point that the Administration is manufacturing a crisis in order to justify a greater military-like presence in Chicago.
Something bad is going to happen (an ICE agent gets killed or seriously injured, for example). That will trigger a full scale "invasion" of Chicago by the military.
The Administration will invoke the Insurrection Act (even though it would not apply).

 

Nothing official yet, but multiple reports that the Argentina - Puerto Rico match scheduled next Monday at Soldier Field will be moved to Miami because of ICE protests in Chicago.

Looks pretty official now. Not that I was going but it sucks for several reasons, not the least that Fire Academy grad Noeh Hernandez won't be able to face Messi & Co, in his hometown.

 

Logistically, that will be a mess(i). moving the match on such short notice.

However, it appears that ticket sales were very sluggish. I was on ticketmaster's website (the match is still listed as being on sale for Chicago) and it appears that only a few thousand tickets have been sold for the Soldier Field match.

Argentina is playing Venezuela in Miami (at the Hard Rock Stadium) on Friday, as well, so they can just stay there for the weekend.

Also, I doubt Messi plays, since Inter Miami play on October 11th and October 18th
