I have been avoiding posting about this, but I will answer.
I don't really see much of a future.

The federal judiciary, up through the Supreme Court, is lost for the rest of our life times. There will be two (Alito and Thomas retiring) and possibly three (Roberts) new Supreme Court Justices in the next 18 months. Sotomayor (age 70) is getting up there in years, as well.
The 34-time felon, adjudicated sexual abuses and multi-time adjudicated fraudster Occupier-elect could easily be responsible for 6 or 7 of the 9 Supreme Court justices, none of whom would be older than 60. Let that one sink in for a moment.

The administrative state will be dismantled. Expect to see several Federal Departments (Education being the first, possibly Energy second) to be decimated. HHS, HUD and Dept of Labor will likely be gutted, as well.
However, unlike the judiciary, the administrative agencies can be rebuilt relatively quickly.

To be perfectly honest, I have given up
I have deleted my social media (including the Politics & Current Events Forum on BigSoccer), avoided all news and even late night talk shows for the last week.
I hope to stay tuned out through the end of the year or beyond.

I am looking at activities to distract myself for the next several months.
The publisher of my textbook has been wanting a second edition. I met with her last month and promised it by next summer. Maybe I throw myself into that.

The ironic thing, of course, is that most of us here will not be THAT directly impacted by the upcoming disaster in waiting.
We are mostly white, middle age+, upper-middle class, cisgender straight guys/gals here on Big Soccer. We are not going to be "targets" of the incoming regime.

Maybe those of us working in the public sector and, especially, public education, will be impacted a bit, but for the most part, we won't suffer much.

Unlike, immigrants (legal or undocumented), women, LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, and almost all other minorities. The marginalized will be far more marginalized.

I am actually grieving. I have never grieved.

Has any authoritarian regime from the 20th century managed to last a century? We're at 75 years with N Korea. The Soviet Union lasted 69 years. China is acutely aware of these dates and is getting regressive because it fears collapse. So I'll give the Turd Republic a lifespan of under 75 years. I'm sure my grandkids will survive it. If we're lucky it'll collapse in 2.
