"Thoughts and Prayers" to our democracy.

We are not better than this and never really have been.
We SHOULD be better than this, but we are not.

Almost half of the electorate voted FOR authoritarianism, fascism and a 34 time convicted felon, who was an abject failure the last time.

Absolute dumb ******** Morans whose privilege and groupthink lead them astray. You’re disgusting, racist human beings. ********ing Morans.

“The losses among Latinos is nothing short of catastrophic for the party,” said Representative Ritchie Torres, an Afro-Latino Democrat whose Bronx-based district is heavily Hispanic. Mr. Torres worried that Democrats were increasingly captive to “a college-educated far left that is in danger of causing us to fall out of touch with working-class voters.”

  14. As Latinos become more assimilated citizens their politics break down more like mainstream Whites. Latinos are no more a voting block than Whites.

"These movements are sometimes led by fantastically wealthy faux populists who hoodwink gullible voters by promising to solve a litany of problems that always seem to involve money, immigrants, and minorities. The appeals from these charlatans resonate most not among the very poor, but among a bored, relatively well-off middle class, usually those who are deeply uncomfortable with racial and demographic changes in their own countries."

Hopefully we get a new batch from both parties (or even a third party that can reside in the middle) in 2028 unless Trump totally destroys the Constitution and decides that he will be president until he dies. He certainly has the sycophants to do it.

Looking forward to seeing Mayor Pete out there in 2028.

Get ready for a lot more anti-trans bullshit from the libs.

“Pundits and politicians are scrambling to define the terms of the defeat in whatever fashion will most easily allow them to hang onto their influence. This is why Bernie Sanders, who just spent the last four years enthusiastically stumping for Joe Biden and his administration, is suddenly reaming out the Democratic Party for having abandoned the working class. It's why a pundit like Matt Yglesias, a liberal in name only who just watched the Harris campaign completely eat shit while running on the kind of centrist policies he has long championed, has to quickly invent a new reality in which Harris lost because she somehow wasn't centrist enough”

    Who cares about the why?

It has happened and we ALL have to deal with it.

Or, like me, I try very hard not to think about it.

I have completely stopped consuming the news. They were complicit in this mess. They won't earn another advertising dollar from me.
    F*ck everyone in power.

I am not sure who you mean about "the idiots that ********ed things up".

If you mean the Democratic candidate, I think VP Harris ran a damn near perfect campaign.
She was everywhere she needed to be.
She had plans that clearly articulated what she intended to do as President.
    She said the right things.
    She had energy and enthusiasm.
    She built an incredible coalition.

If you mean the larger Democratic Party and what Bernie Sanders said that the Democratic Party has "abandoned the working class," it is just crap.
They have advocated for higher wages, unionization, worker's protection, etc.
The Republican party actively hates the working class and always has. The Republicans want to destroy the working class.

If you mean the voters, if we thought they could "learn," they would have done so after 2016.
    They repeated ********ed things up.
They didn't learn, they doubled down, tripled down.

They voted for a stupid political-newcomer celebrity in 2016.
    Asshole was rejected in 2020.
This time, they voted FOR authoritarianism, hatred, bigotry, xenophobia, and sexism. They WANT to be allowed to hate. They WANT to be encouraged to hate.
This is going to be worse by a magnitude of I don't even know yet.

The first go around of that disaster of an administration was all about incompetence and stupidity in government, along with tax cuts for the rich and the Supreme Court.
This go around, there is a 900+ page plan to dismantle the administrative state, spread hate and bigotry, and subjugate women and minorities.
The Supreme Court is gone for the rest of my lifetime.
    They WILL do it.

The feckless electorate is letting it happen.
The Republican electorate WANT it to happen. They voted for it.
The Democratic electorate didn't care enough to stop it. They tacitly voted for it.
Both are encouraging it to happen.

Alright I done with this. I had a longer screed, but I am done.
