Despite F** News winning the weekly ratings, I believe they got crushed on that first night.

I’m honestly sick over the fact that pools won’t be opening until (at least!) after July 4th. This is being passed off as a “lifeguard shortage” when, um- did all of the lifeguards die? Move to France? Or maybe, just ********ing maybe, is there no shortage at all but rather a lack of money to pay for lifeguards? We have infinite money for police- in the budget, court settlements for their brutality and corruption, but when it comes to actually provide taxpayers with a tangible benefit from their taxes, we have nothing.

I was talking to a friend about this last week, and the thing is, nobody will talk about this when the summer crime wave hits, they’ll just say “we need more cops!” and the mayor will strip even more money away from services as a result. It’s damn depressing and it’ll get worse a few years from now when some mayor inevitably pushes to privatize these services because the cops sucked up even more of our tax dollars. Happy Friday.

    Better late than…nevermind.

"The last two weeks exposed its hypocritical stance, with major countries like Germany sourcing new fossil fuels abroad while denying support to developing countries facing devastation from climate-induced superstorms and rising seas."

Two weeks of climate talks in Germany have ended in acrimony between rich and poor countries over cash for climate damage.

I actually love Budapest. The majority of people we met while there were so welcoming and friendly and surprisingly liberal compared to that shithead Orban and the nationalist autocratic Hungarian government.

We've been to Budapest once, in 2004. I think this it is a pretty great city, but what a weird language.

Aware of Injuries Inside, Uvalde Police Waited to Confront Gunman

More than a dozen students remained alive for over an hour before officers entered their classrooms. The commander feared a risk to officers’ lives, new documents show.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/09/us/uvalde-shooting-police-response.html

“Body camera footage from the day of the incident showed that police knew that children were still alive in classrooms 111 and 112, but did not immediately enter to save them.”

    https://www.insider.com/uvalde-classroom-doors-may-not-have-been-locked-report-says-2022-6?amp

Lock all those cops in a classroom with all their guns and ammo and let them know the door will only be unlocked when there’s only one man left alive. They can take care of this issue themselves.

+1 but also that one cop left alive has to suffer consequences for their collective inaction as a “reward” for making it out alive.

I would rather each of them was arrested, charged and convicted of negligent homicide or similar offences.

I do not believe in vengeance or extra judicial punishment.

I figured they would get charged with murder. Assume that state has the death sentence as well.

Day 4 of the January 6th hearings just wrapped up.
Another day of very compelling testimony outlining Tr*mp and his allies criminal activity...that will not go anywhere.

The level of coordination that went into the pressure on Republican officials proves that the Orange Ignoramus could not have been behind it. No way, he could organize something like this.
He was the most willing participant.
