Sure, but I suspect you would run into a bunch of housing code regulations if you allowed groups of homeless people live there. I imagine they probably have seriously strict rules about things like how many people can live there* and whether you can use the properties as rentals. As for buying the devalued properties, I wonder how much that would happen. You would probably be better off devaluing a more densely populated area than Beverly Hills. The properties are so large, most people don't even see their neighbors. *which is largely ignored for rich people.
once you start reaching enough density you reach a point where people don't really notice the SRO that's popped up on their block though. If you really want to go the chaos option, suburbia is your best bet. (also why protecting existing SROs is so important. Chicago's done a shit job of that)
Agreed. I worked on a couple of SRO cases years ago. As for suburbia, yes, the NIMBY people would go nuts.
I got my ********ing vaccine in February. I haven't worn a mask in probably a month at a busy ass grocery store. Now they're telling us we need to wear them again? Why? Is the ********ing shot not free and widely available? Stop treating us like ********ing children. We can make up our own ********ing minds. ********ing been almost 2 years I know 3 people total that got it and they're all fully recovered and that was pre vaccine. I'm just done worrying about it if I'm completely honest.
Mutations were always to be expected but mass right wing messaging is undermining the efforts to stay safe. Children can’t get the vaccine yet. Anyone eligible for a vaccine not getting one should be kept from polite society until this eventually passes. You have a right to not get a vaccine. You have a right to not wear a mask. You do not have a right to threaten the health and lives of children.
That’s not how pandemics work. Kids need to be able to safely go to school, get taken to the doctor, go with mom or dad to the grocery store. They deserve our protection. It’s the adults of the world that are causing the harm. The adults need to be held responsible. And I desperately and sincerely hope all of the irresponsible adults die an agonizing death.
