I had a memorial day trip planned to Houston. $35 bucks each way last time I checked. I'm rather dubious it's going to happen.
I've never been less impressed by a city. Hermann Park a great place to take the kids and the ice houses were fun for a night out in good weather, but other than that the city had no charm whatsoever. Just endless sprawl. For better or worse their medical science industry is flush with cash and has been poaching friends so we try to visit yearly now if we can.
Atlanta is worse, but, to be fair, I have not been subject to enough time in Houston to really tell. I have been there once, for less than a day...and that was enough.
For me it was because we could not fly right into McAllen, Tx., so had to stop in Houston, on a business trip to Rio Grande City (which is not really on the river, is not grand and is not even city). Hottest, most awful place I have ever been.

Sounds like where we are in a lot of Chicago hospitals TBH. The place I work out of in the burbs is in good shape but we went from just a few confirmed inpatients to double digits in about 48 hours. One of the major medical centers in the city I won't name went from 50 confirmed inpatients last weekend to 150 today. We're still probably at least a couple weeks from peak.
I was picking up my beer order at the local brewery (D and G, great place) and a nurse from Delnor who was doing the same told me that they currently have 14 inpatient Covid cases right now.
