I have this conspiracy theory where they want to make the numbers look better by not actually testing anyone and just hope most people recover just fine. Too far fetched?
Not at all. Trump said not to let victims off of the cruise ship, since he "likes the numbers where they are." Not far fetched that they would not test for similar reasons.
I’d believe it. It’s an incredibly dumb move, which gels with my opinion of this administration. Not testing doesn’t mean people incubating an incredibly infectious illness don’t spread it, after all. Very short-sighted. Short-sighted when talking about an illness with an R0 of 3 means “can’t think about 5 days ahead”, not about November BTW
"There's one thing that I can tell you about this: It is much more aggressive in its transmission than anything that we have seen in recent history," he said, according to a secret recording of the remarks obtained by NPR. "It is probably more akin to the 1918 pandemic." https://www.npr.org/2020/03/19/8181...-questions-about-private-comments-on-covid-19 “The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee warned a small group of well-connected constituents three weeks ago to prepare for dire economic and societal effects of the coronavirus, according to a secret recording obtained by NPR. The remarks from U.S. Sen. Richard Burr were more stark than any he had delivered in more public forums.”
Oh, it gets much, much worse. He told a different story to the public. ...and then: Senator Dumped Up to $1.7 Million of Stock After Reassuring Public About Coronavirus Preparedness Intelligence Chair Richard Burr’s selloff came around the time he was receiving daily briefings on the health threat. Soon after he offered public assurances that the government was ready to battle the coronavirus, the powerful chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr, sold off a significant percentage of his stocks, unloading between $628,000 and $1.72 million of his holdings on Feb. 13 in 33 separate transactions. As the head of the intelligence committee, Burr, a North Carolina Republican, has access to the government’s most highly classified information about threats to America’s security. His committee was receiving daily coronavirus briefings around this time, according to a Reuters story. https://www.propublica.org/article/...ssuring-public-about-coronavirus-preparedness
The absolute worst ********ing people. This is the politician I think about when people plead for civility and political discourse. ******** that- there is little to no chance this assbasket, or any other politician that did the same thing, will ever spend a day in jail for this behavior, so you're goddamn right I'm fine with people harassing the shit of him (and the others) in public every opportunity they get. People got bent out of shape because Mitch McConnell got heckled at a restaurant, but honestly, if that's the worst thing that happens to these absolute shitbags, then they should all consider themselves lucky and thank every deity known to man when they pray to their giant piles of money every night. ******** each and every one of them with an entire turnpike.
I have a friend that’s a nurse who mentioned severe alcoholics have a consistent BAC of something like .12, over the legal limit and they’re functional up to like .3, which could kill a normal person. Insane. We’ve all been touched by it some way and it sucks.
What do parties have to do with it? EDIT: I see the post above mine. The five I mentioned included a Democrat I believe.
Progressive group's analysis finds Stacey Abrams is Biden's best choice. Here's why. The Georgian performed well across a range of demographic groups, including both independent voters and core Democratic constituencies. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...ey-abrams-biden-s-best-choice-here-s-n1164361
It should have nothing to do with it, but it is quite possible that there will be scum on both sides of the aisle. DiFi sold a bunch of stock as well. She is blaming her husband, but come on? Everyone who did this should have a chance to defend themselves, BUT they should all go down without a decent explanation.
Yeah, my edit hopefully clarified. And yes, it was DiFi, although she sold at a level below the stock is now.
********ing morans. https://www.npr.org/2020/03/28/8229...ef-bill-presents-a-reckoning-for-libertarians
Thomas Massie, Republican of Kentucky "If this bill is so great for America, why not allow a vote on it?" he fumed on Twitter. Because it is a goddamned health risk, you dickhead,Massie. John Kerry: Breaking news: Congressman Massie has tested positive for being an asshole. He must be quarantined to prevent the spread of his massive stupidity. He's given new meaning to the term #Masshole. (Finally, something the president and I can agree on!) https://t.co/N1CNLPsZjc— John Kerry (@JohnKerry) March 27, 2020
