Well, after last week's enthralling performance against Philadelphia, the Fire are given the week tonight. The match in Miami was postponed until the end of September to accommodate the LEAGUES CUP® Final, MLS is less important, of course. At least, the Chicago Fire CANNOT lose the match in humiliating fashion this week and the only humiliation we face is losing the chance to play Miami in August. Tomorrow is supposed to be 91 degrees with extreme UV index and evening thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening in Miami, so there is a chance the match might have been interrupted, anyway. There is also a "waxing crescent" moon. I think that's pretty much like a Brazilian (which is very popular in Miami...allegedly), but I am not really sure. The thing that sucks is that puts us with three matches in a week later in September. We play 9/20 in Minnesota 9/27 at home 9/30 in Miami 10/4 at home ...then we have 2 weeks off before the last game of the season against New England. All to accommodate the assholes (which, at least, will have waxing crescent moons, I guess) in Miami. That really screws up the rhythm for the team going into the playoffs. (Ha! I said playoffs! Let's see if THAT actually happens. Really, it should) Instead of a quick trip to St. Paul, then two weeks at home, we go Minnesota Chicago Miami Chicago Complete disrespect for the Chicago a team that article about Teran the other day (from something called "Playing for 90) called "one of the most important clubs in the league"! (and then spelled Chicago incorrectly). Well, anyway, I predict that our great and precious Phillip Zinckernagel manage to score, anyway! or, at least gets an assist on someone scoring.. Wait? Huh? Go Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeee!!!!!!! (just not this week)
Generally favorable results for Fire tonight. Even so, it looks to me like Fire are competing with RBNY for last play-in slot. Better than nothing.
Seattle has sold over 60,000 for the LEAGUES CUP® final. Pretty good, but the ONLY reason is that they are playing Messi (according to Dave Baldwin). There will be "activations," I imagine.
