Agree. I thought his post PK taunting of the fan section was a little too much and he deserved the yellow. I have ZERO insight to what happened behind closed doors and the alleged "attacking of referees" that was claimed. It seems like maybe that was total bull sh*t after all? In the grand scheme of things there really appears to be NO discipline of bad refereeing in MLS and I have no idea if there just aren't referees available to fill all the games or what but it seems like (and one could argue about baseball referees too) there should be some system where the referees get graded by the managers and press and it factors in to whom gets to stay in the top flight to weed out the dead wood. Lord knows I've signed a petition or two to boot Penso and Toledo, yet nothing happens. That article is from June, 2021. He was sent on loan at Atletico from Barcelona a few weeks after that comment. He stayed on loan for two seasons (2021-2022 and 2022-2023) and Barcelona sold him back to Atletico this past summer.

Well, maybe he doesn't think that way now, since he signed a new contract with Atletico in the summer. Perhaps he said that out of frustration about his situation at the time in Barcelona.

It would be pretty great if you are correct (I would still prefer Lewandowski, but Greizmann would be awesome).
I agree, based on form and, more importantly, the 4 year age difference. However, Lewandowski would be the ONLY player other than Messi and C Ronaldo who would dramatically and immediately "move the needle" for Chicago Fire attendance.
That is a consideration. Both deals likely to be for at least three year , so age matters, too.Talking some really big acquisition fees and really big salary checks if doing it now. No idea what the budget is. Will cost less in 18 months but Fire need to make a move now. Another 18 months of “super-suck” will make it tougher for Fire to appeal to the type of player wanted. And a number of MLS teams will be making this same type of acquisition, reducing the player supply.
