Casey was very good for the nerves of the Bayer supporters. Already before the goal he had an one on one situation, but the goalie deflected his shot to the post.

This goal might be worth some $$$ for Casey. The eyes of the public were on this game and scoring here means being in many files now.

Not to mention the $1,000,000 that former BS poster Sekrah owes to many BS posters for boldy proclaiming that Conor Casey would never set foot on the pitch in a Bundesliga match, much less score the goal that secured Leverkusen's staying up...

Good news! Hopefully it will earn Casey some attention / recognition.

This was his first Bundesliga goal, wasn't it? How many games did Conor manage to play (I know it wasn't very many)?

In an earlier thread there was talk of CC moving to Lubeck in BundesLiga 2 if Dortmund, which owns his contract, approved it. Is the loan to Lubeck still being discussed?

This is why it pays for a club like Leverkusen to have a liking to Americans :)

    Good job Conor.

according to www.kicker.de this was casey's 2nd goal of the season, and i think he played in like 5 games. Not to bad, considering all the injuries and stuff.

    Sekrah is BenReilly IIRC.

Puskas is actually a coach. I haven't seen him on here under his alternate handle in a long time.

A lot of people were wrong about Casey because they didn't take into account his experience level at the time of the 2000 Olympics. He flashed lots of potential IMHO.

It was a beauty too: beautiful cross, clinical header. Olaf is right, he created HA-VAWK in the few minutes he was in there. I'm sure that didn't go unnoticed.

Yeah, Sekrah and Newo were the same, and Puskas had a few other monikers...one had the word "tiger" in it. There were two different nutjobs.

Isn't Puskas the one who claimed to be former US Nat Chris Sullivan?

I can't believe that much-maligned Connor Casey scores he's first goal in the 1BundesLiga and we're talking about various idiots who used to post here.

Way to go Connor. Now how about scoring them for DC United?

I just read that Conor Casey entered the record books of stats fanatics: he scored the 100th so called 'joker goal' (goal of a player, who was not in the starting lineup) of the season, which is new Bundesliga record.

I prefer to look at it as people rejoicing in the fact that a troll was proven so wrong in such a dramatic way.:)

Good on Connor. When I saw him in Hershey, I may not have thought he was deserving of the playing time Clive was giving him over others, but I did believe he had a bright future, based on his attributes, once put in the right environment.

So Olaf, could you please clarify once again what Dortmund's position is regarding CC? Looking to sell, or set for another loan?

i just can't get over the irony of this.

bayern leverkusen...the team where good promising american talent goes to rot on the bench...the team many of us hate for this very reason...get's saved by of all people an american.

For the record, BenReilly as far as I know is a unique poster on BigSoccer.

Don't look, but I think said-Puskas may be appearing on these boards now and then in disguise.

Does CC come home for the offseason and should he get an invite to the next Nat camp? If two MLS rookies get a call why not a bundlieg striker?
