What a ball by Luiz and an equally great finish by Pedro

Direct football leads to a goal. Who'd have thunk it?

A general theme is the desire we show compared to our opposition. 50/50 balls regularly see us lose out. Competitive headers, we lose out. Wish we showed more hustle but the more lethargic pass happy style kind of suppresses it. Spend so much time with the ball, seem to have forgotten the need to win it from open play.

Honestly, at this point, I blame the players not the style. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen them pull this. They did it under Conte and Mou as well. I think so it comes down to personality. I think players like Hazard, Willian, Morata (I know he’s not playing), Jorgy, Alsono all lack that killer edge to them.

    Literally not true.......

    I'll get my coat.

Seriously though, it's a combination of factors. In this case I don't think it's a case of the players giving up just they are hard wired to approach the match a certain way. Sadly, when I saw the ball from Luiz my first thought was 'great pass' and my second thought was, I wonder how mad Sarri will be at him for playing a ball that traveled that distance.

Personel is a huge issue.. Giroud and CHO should be on but obv that isnt our biggest concern. We don’t have a goalscorer, it ********s everything up. We start Willian.

Only thing I’ll fault Sarri for is that idiotic passing series we do in our own corner

Alsono might have a knack for scoring goals but the killer edge im talking about isn’t just about goals. He’s often a passenger. He doesn’t try to drive the game or push the tempo. It might be harsh for a LB but he isn’t exactly a transitional LB.

When does the well marketed exciting part of Sarri ball start:confused::confused::confused:

I have yet to see it or see it in the making

    Giroud please

yes we need a striker but that does not excuse this level of lack of goal-scoring, edge, purposeful movement, passion:(:(:(

Maybe but you may have missed mine too. I don’t think they give up either. Just the types of players they are and I think we have too many of them.

Our best moment of the half comes from an aggressive bit of ball winning from Kante. Take note gaffer.
