My stream died for a minute so I missed it live. Saw one replay but couldn't figure out why it was so bad. What do you think it was that would force him to come out so quickly and keep him out until January as you say?
Weird contact on the Cucurella challenge and reached for his groin after his shot/cross. Groin injuries are tough to rehab because they affect every aspect of mobility. Plus his general reaction was more dramatic than normal.
Also, Merino has looked pretty good since coming on. Couple errant passes but very good against the press and a couple good opportunities on goal.
FT CHE 1-1 ARS Before KO, this match seemed likely headed for a draw. And so it turned out. And not an unfair result. Both sides spurned chances to win it. (Trossard right at the death!) Really nice to see Odegaard back, but contrary to what some folks thought, his presence (or lackthereof) doesn't seem to be the only reason for our big extended wobble this season. And really surprising to see him go the full 95'. Testimant to whatever fitness work he did while in rehab. But SADLY we lose Saka just as his creative partner returns. As we hold a collective breath for his diagnosis. Onward to host the mighty Forest, but first an interlull.
Trossard, Jesus, and Martinelli are all active detriments to our side right now. That’s far too much to overcome for a squad of our depth (thin)
I just watched back the collision between Cucuerella and Saka. And it doesn't look like the kind of thing that would induce a groin strain. But I agree that the way he pulled up later and then hobbled off the pitch. It doesn't look like a quick recovery.
Thats the EPL cooked. Not making up that gap on Pool. Find an attacking player for L8 in Jan, and focus on the CL because thats the only thing worth going for this season.
This is a bad take. Chelsea because they have tons of money and don't care about violating PSR could take a flyer on a way too often injured player for plus £51 million for 7 or however many ridiculous years. We could not.
Trossard is a football terrorist terrible attitude too Shoulda been sold this summer and I hope January happens for him
Wait, whaaaaaaat? I can't help but recall that Trossard was the prudent solution to the failure that was missing out on signing Mudryk for £90M. In Trossard, we "settled" for a £35M player who has since provided (in less than 2 years) 20 goals and 13 assists in 83 appearance across all competitions. Frankly, if his attitude is costing us points this season, it's probably 7th or 8th on the list of issues that has costed us points this season.
Agreed. This forum is hyperbolic on some players. Trossard has not been reliable lately but he gained us massive points prior. Yet he is slaughtered more than Gaddem Jesus and Nelli.
Trossard this season:- Sulked after scoring against Villa.- Red vs. City.- Lazy pass against Bournemouth got Saliba sent off.- Stole penalty off Havertz vs. Shakhtar. Missed.- Messed up two huge chances today. Not a good season. Not a good attitude.— JB™️ (@gunnerpunner) November 10, 2024 And on top of that, he isn’t a good footballer and his only contribution to our play is goals. He can’t press. He isn’t a dual winner. He can’t defend. He isn’t a good passer. He isn’t a good dribbler. He is our JR Smith.
