I see our new man on the touchline is blaming Poch for the defensive high line. Maresca says that the high line is a legacy problem/issue from the bad old Poch days. Bizarre. Poch didn't play a particularly high line. What we had at the time was Thiago's experience and organisational expertise. Don’t know what to think about that tbh. Fact is playing it out from the back and the inverted full back means we are ridiculously predictable. Clubs playing against us, know exactly what we are trying to do and how we are trying to do it and they can set-up against us accordingly. No surprises. We are predictable and we are shaky at the back with our passing game. James never got into the other half once last night, he is wasted in this role. He is a great crosser of the ball and to not utilize that in any way is dumb. Cucu will be back, and we have Gusto, decent full backs, I don’t see Ben getting a game anytime soon with our defensive set-up. Our Centre backs are the problem and they are without vision, composure and leadership. They are not reading the game at all. Maybe Levi a bit, but he is still a kid. AND even if we plan on ‘playing it out from the back’ we do need to alternate this some times otherwise we are heading towards oblivion.
[Kieran Gill] Enzo Maresca says he is still trying to get the Mauricio Pochettino out of his Chelsea players as he does not want his defenders playing such a risky high line. #CFC head coach told us in Charlotte: "We are not working on defensive lines so high. It's a habit from last year." Weak as fvck comment
The fact we are only in preseason and already predictable is funny. Even Carlo stated the coach needs experience to learn. looks like Maresca has a AVB complex. Everyone else's fault and change for the sake of change.
Not sure about Osmihen here, sadly our Club is at the point where I worry if a player chooses us over better CL options.
