Goalkeeper. Petrovic is available for transfer. He wasn't perfect but he deserved to be the first choice last season. I was hoping we would get an experienced first choice keeper this summer, but instead we went for another prospect. Not sure about Sanchez. Not sure about our whole keeper strategy tbh. Badiashile is shocking. Never even got close to the attacker. Just backed off and off. Comical tbh
Petrovic was good enough but getting another prospect was foolish. Should have just gotten a proven GK. Badi is clearly uncomfortable playing a highline. Not a good fit for the system in that regard.
Don’t think anyone actually knows who our first choice centre back partnership is or should be, they are all awful. I guess if we are going to play the ball out from the back, then we might need players who can control and pass the ball. Levi and Wes?
The funny thing is, Trev best fits the profile. Since that likely isn’t happening, yea Wes and Levi are the closest to the athletic profile and ability to pass. Badi can pass but not the best profile for the highline. Disasi has the athletic profile but isn’t the best passer. Same for Tosin.
Are we supposed to press? like up front I understand that we are totally committed to playing it out from the back, but are we allowed to hit a long ball sometimes? just for variation like Sterling running at defenders is a painful watch. Y'know at some point he is going to run into someone and then fall over.
Well our best presser is in Madrid, hope the Doo'F's had that in their equation and have "a plan". NJ, Nkunku, Cole, & Madueke? could be really exciting if we can get the ball, and get it from the back back up to them. Still entirely unconvinced by Enzo on both sides of the ball, and Caicedo when he plays with Enzo.
The system doesnt get the best out of the best players we have available... Nkunku as a no9 does not work James being part of the 3 kills his creative prowess and crossing ability Madueke, mudryk, sterling, guiu is a lot of poor decision making Too many missed passes and players didnt know when to press Enzos too slow to play as a 8 I hope he proves me wrong though jorgensen looks like kepa 2.0 Its only preseason....
Didn't watch this but it sounds like our main 'issue' is fairly obvious, the fact that our defensive issues don't seem to be getting any better is a concern when you are running out of warm up games. One practice game left I believe?
