Nothing subtle about it was there? It's almost as if they think they are immune from getting a penalty called against them.

If only there was some sort of system in place where those types of incidents could be reviewed....

Smartly across from kepa, those easily can sneak in. Making a strong case today.

Not many efforts on goal but he has been equal to all of them so far which is all that can be asked of the man between the sticks.

3 points. Clean sheet. Good first half and an okay second half. Next.

    Job done. Comfortable.

Happy for Timo honestly. It was like he woke up, not that he was getting in great positions to begin with. But that was the Timo at the start of the season.

Weird to not see Pulisic and Ziyech play.

Very solid 3 points albeit a bit too complacent for my liking in the second half.

Much sterner tests to come but the rebuild is proceeding well. More chances created today and for the most part pretty well drilled at the back.

Kepa and Werner will both be happy with their performances. Ziyech and Pulisic may be starting to get a little worried about their path back to the first eleven.

5 wins out of 6 and 5 clean sheets. Top 4 after too long away and some nice confidence building for the next few challenges.

After their last performance I am not surprised, with so many top players you are only as good as your last game. You have to take your chance when it comes, like Kepa did tonight, fair play to him

Added at least a ginsters cornish pasty, some pickled onion monster munch, a can of tango AND a wispa to his value today I'd say :D

I've bloody missed this game (family emergency & trip to the hospital), people seem fairly pleased with the performance, why was the 2nd half not so good? Just foot off the gas or something else?

Pul and Ziyech will be important parts of this team. I mean man, are peoples’ memories that bad? Pulisic almost single handedly dragged us across the finish line last season. Plenty of time to come back into things.

Imagine this team when Tuchel stops taking pity on our opposition and decides to drop Jorg

Comfortable, but felt like we could/should have gotten a little more. Happy for CHO and Werner.

Is this really our shape now? Our deep team suddenly feels crowded. Is Kante just out recovering slowly because he can? Are Chillwell, Alonso, James, and CHO competing for two wing back spots? Who do Ziyech and CP displace? Havertz?

Hard to argue with winning, but Newcastle seemed pretty toothless w/o Wilson. IDK. It was a good performance. We’ve made a lot of crummy teams look good this year.

Well, yeah... but not one of the big pastys, though, right? :cautious:

Maybe if he has a another game where he doesn't let in a soft goal :)

Did anyone else come way from the game thinking wow I thought Jonjo Shelvey had been 30 for his entire life and it turns out he’s not even 30 yet. Turning 29 this month.

Any ways... looks like we may see a GK battle between Kepa and Mendy.

Still not certain 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 suits us best but can’t argue with the results.

Which is ironic, because he is often terrified to move the ball forward with an aggressive pass. Far too often he goes side to side or backwards, losing many good runs from our forwards. Something to work on.

I know what you mean when he is in his own half but he does link up well including give and goes going forward and puts in dangerous crosses

He's a busy player that I think prefers going forward, when he can, to tracking back. The wing back role seems well suited to him but will need to improve to displace CHO there.

More dan petrescu than steve Clarke. He'll defend as part of his job description but he doesn't live for it.
