Just following up my notion of Nellie possibly playing....Goff says he was in DC to get his visa renewed - not likely he'd be here or available.....
    oh well.

Like we don't have people on this list that 'can slow things up' a bit. ;)

"Sorry to hear that your visapaperwork has been delayed, Ryan. But since you're here, how about keeping in shape with the boys."

Yeah, but I think they're going to massacre us for the 20 minutes they are fresh.

    I'm guessing Chelsea 4-1.

Props to Chelsea ... I guess the realize we're STILL undefeated to English teams. And I hope they don't get too upset when it stays that way. Forget the Dooooooooooooooom predictions .... we're NOT losing this one.

i'm sorry, i haven't really been paying too much attention to this match b/c it isn't a meaningful game, but espn is covering it? are you sure?

Any idea which side the players will be sitting on? Like, in front of which section?

Seems to me like they only have an A team!!! 2 Internationals at every position. Few teams in the world can say that.

Sorta off-topic, but Barcelona spends as much if not more than Real Madrid- so does Inter Milan. Chelsea blows just about everyone out of the water with transfer spending, but Madrid's wage bill is incredibly high (almost 200m dollars).

As for the billionaire debate, according to the 2005 Forbes list, Abramovich has a net worth of $13.3 billion, while Uncle Phil has $ 5.8 billion. It's worth noting that Anschutz's net worth in 2001 was over $15 billion and plunged to $5 billion the next year due to most of his money being tied up in Qwest Communications.

I just have two things to say on behalf on DC U................. we ain't scared of them Britts.......... Bring em' on!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D They won't last 20 minutes in the heat.......... and trust me Fedex field is going to be hot as hell on the 28th!!! We couldn't function in the Mexican climate and Chelsea sure as hell won't survive in ours!! It will be like melting ice cubes in the desert.... Piece of cake!! GO DC UNITED!!!!

I just hope that the score doesnt go too high like around the 5 or 6's, I dont think it will though. Im sure Nowak will probably pull Gomez or Moreno after we score our 4th goal just to let Chelsea have some dignity. (Denial is a very good coping mechanism so dont ruin my fantasy)

Jesus, is the plan to just buy every single player that's any good, so that nobody else has any players that can compete?

Saw in today's examiner that they have sold 14k for the game. I hope sales pick up...
