Midfielder Jody Morris and goalkeeper Ed de Goey will both be looking for new clubs after being released by Chelsea.

Morris came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge and made 173 first team appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals.

He was unable to agree terms on a new contract, with his current deal expiring in the Summer, and has already been linked with a move to Tottenham or Blackburn.

De Goey, who has 31 caps for Holland, has played second fiddle to Carlo Cudicini this season.

    I'm assuming this means

we have paid the remaining amounts of their contracts that were supposed to run through June 30 to speed up the process of building the squad and letting them find new teams.

Chelsea release Jody Morris - and could now be set to chase Blackburn's David Dunn.

Manchester United are so desperate to land Brazilian Ronaldinho they have offered Diego Forlan in part-exchange (Daily Star).

Ruud van Nistelrooy is on a one-man crusade to tempt Barcelona's Patrick Kluivert to Manchester by constantly ringing him (The Sun).

Should Man U prefer Kluivert and Zola decides to retire, Ronnie could be a great player in blue eh?

Chelsea are making a £5m bid to sign midfielder Joe Cole from relegated West Ham United (BBC)

Good Keeper for us over the years. Wish him well. Always looked like a 1970's porn star though didn't he?

Morris in no big loss, in fact he's quite short.

Ronaldinho would be great, but are we in any position to pay his wages?

Joe Cole isn't going anywhere for 5 mil. It might take nearly double and I really have to question whether he's worth it at that rate. There's a huge premium built into his price because he's English. Chelsea need the best players we can get at this juncture and for what Cole will command, we could probably get 2 players of equal quality (they just won't have his reputation).
