Its something you need to try, personally though I hate it. Its got a very strong musty flavour that doesn't appeal to me in the least. However, my parents and siblings prefer goat's feta to cow's feta. Blech!
Indeed, my girlfriend detests the stuff. She came out with the immortal comment that "Goats cheese tastes like goats do". I still haven't got to the bottom of that actually...
Frieslander's lesson for the day: Gouda is pronounced "howduh" (with a throaty first "h" sound) not "gooduh."
Another thumbs down on goat cheese. Too often, it tastes like there's goat in it. blech. I love most other cheeses, though. Port wine is yummy!
Thanks but which imbeciles actually pronounce it the wrong way? Whoever they are, they should be ashamed of themselves. Nice cheese but a little to similar to edam for my liking.
There are a LOT of styles of goat cheese out there. To say "I don't like goat cheese" is kind of like saying "I don't like cow cheese" or "I don't like sheep cheese."
