Prediction: 2-1 Lineup: Kiely Young - Perry - Fortune - HH Stuart - Euell - Holland - Thomas DiCanio - Bartlett I don't think Thomas will get the start. He will most likely come on as a sub. I also don't think Fortune will get the start -- probably Fish. I just hope Konchesky doesn't get in since he cost us the last two matches. It is good to hear Euell will be back in. The ball goes through him now. He fills the void in the middle behind the strikers. Jason needs to stay healthy the rest of the way. Yes, we miss Parker, but Euell took some of the charge until his foot injury. We really dropped off after he was stretchered off.
What a match! But I lost the radio call shortly after Blackburn's equalizer! Jensen comes through! I hope to see highlights of this one at some point. DiCanio had quite the game. Curbs took him out a little too soon. I don't believe in luck, but that was bad luck again in Konchesky. He comes on and Rovers score. Fortunately Jensen got that last shot off. Way to go Addicks!
I had thought we'd drawn. My internet stream quit just about a minute into stoppage time. I switched to TalkSport and heard a reporter at the match say that Jensen had scored. Unbelievable. BTW, according to TalkSport's reporter said the fans around him had been booing Jensen after he had come on. I guess they are eating crow now. I must say I figured Blackburn would catch up. I don't know why Charlton continues to drop back into a "bend but don't break" defense. It always seems to allow the opponents to get back into the match. We never seem to score enough goals to make up for this mentality. They had a great first half and then went into their little cacoon. And Curbs last substitution almost made it look they didn't need a striker to keep Blackburn's defense back. Why do you think Freidel came forward? Because there was no down pitch threat. All in all, I guess we should be happy got the needed three points and an end to the losing streak. And, maybe, just maybe, Jensen's goal is the turning point in our season. We'll see....
At least more people in the US have heard about Charlton now. Great way to finish the match. I would love to watch the entire sequence from Friedel's save until Jensen's goal. What a great few minutes of attacking soccer.
