My most ideal situation is that Tepper and the Independence come into an agreement, where the current Independence becomes the USL/reserve/affiliate, and McPhilliamy let’s Tepper use the Independence brand. From a selfish point of view, Independence is the best name, with a good soccer feel to it, plus a real connection with the city, one of the best crests in the league, and the color scheme already matches the Panthers blue.
https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/t...tes-mls-team-name/2BWQ2VJMJVHUFC3SR5FQVY2YYU/ My favorite in order 1. Charlotte Crown FC (really like, although Carolina Crown FC would be better, IMO) 2. Charlotte Athletic FC (safe) 3. Charlotte Town FC (trendy) No thanks: 4. Charlotte Fortune FC 5. Charlotte Gliders FC 6. All Carolina FC (All?) 7. Charlotte Monarchs FC (RSL) 8. Charlotte FC (No to the No name)
Major League Soccer team could be playing in Bank of America Stadium as soon as 2021. Panthers owner David Tepper, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles and "special guests" are holding a press conference Tuesday at the Mint Museum in Uptown where the team will officially be awarded. Between now and the time the team takes the pitch, several things will need to happen. https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/m...needs-happen-next/T5BL6TTZ4FETPIO3ZW47RSAYXQ/
Our plans (with Tepper Sports) include... $110 million in hospitality funds set aside to help ensure a successful venture over the next many years" "Modifications to Bank of America Stadium to support MLS and provide a world-class fan experience" - Mayor Vi Lyles to Don Garber
I’m hoping they do a team [crest] tarp on the upper bowl... I wish it was possible to do them like Atlanta United.

Mint City Collective https://mintcitycollective.com/ I wouldn’t mind sticking to the minty colors with gold and panther blue, and a crest close to what they have.
Charlotte/Carolina Legion FC would be a good name too.. Legion represents strength, unity, and solidarity. Legion is universal in English and Spanish. Legion represents “foot soldier” - a tribute to Carolinas military history, footie, and the infantry is the Queen of Battle, another tribute to the Queen City. It’s easy to say, and rolls off the tongue.
