The Charlotte Eagles kick off the season next Saturday at Blackbaud Stadium against the Charleston Battery.

    Let’s go Charlotte.

It seems like last season and this one are big transition ones for the team. They have started to turn over some long term stand outs on the team. Probably the attack is the biggest area where they need to fill those gaps. I think their defense seems pretty solid and the pick up of GK Eric Reed makes that even better.

Always look forward to the match with the Eagles. should be a great way to kick off the season.

any chance any one might be coming down for the match? the Regiment will be having a tailgate and if your making the trip down, feel free to hang out and have a beer or two and some food.

Even though this one count as a Southern Derby Cup match, it will still be a great match up.

Wow, that was from their first season. I wonder where someone in the UK got that. Also, for some reason, I think the first year the team was owned by someone other then MAI. But I cold be wrong.

    Just wondering...

Is anyone gonna bite? It strikes me as a really good deal.

"And no, I'm not the guy selling it" assures

Talked to someone that was involved with the team back then. They said that their uniforms were by Hummel and it's not a Charlotte Eagles jersey.

Well the Eagles get their first point of the season. So far their defense and midfield seem to being pretty good this season. However, they are havig problems creating and finishing scoring opportunties.

    Charlotte Eagles (PDL) 3
    Myrtle Beach Mutiny (NPSL) 2

The Eagles blew a 2-0 lead on a pair of goals by Dani Siaj only to win in overtime after going down to 10 players. Marco Micaletto buried the winner to set up a date with the Charlotte Independence, their successor in the USL.

Charlotte has earned a bye for the Eastern Conference playoffs with Saturday’s win and will await other teams to play on July 19th to place the other three teams. The South Atlantic Divisional Play-In game will take place between the Carolina Dynamo and SC United Bantams with the winner taking a spot in the conference semifinal opposite the Eagles.
The two other divisions, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, will play a crossover Divisional round to figure out the other two participants in the conference playoffs. Reading United, Mid-Atlantic #1 seed will host the Western Mass Pioneers, #2 seed in Northeast while GPS Portland Phoenix, #1 seed NE will play the Ocean City Nor’Easters, #2 seed MA.
