Sochaux are doing fairly well in Ligue 1 and hold the second most goals scored. He'll likely be loaned to a lower L1 side or somewhere in L2, I doubt they'll ship him to MLS unless they're looking for a summer move.

They do seem to imply, assuming what little French I know did me well, the loan would be for the remainder of the season and not just for a month or two.

If he goes on loan it will likely be someplace in Europe.

What the article basically says is that he is not yet fit to play for Sochaux, and he has a had a slow recovery from his injuries. They'd like to loan him out this winter so that he can regain match-fitness by later in the season.

So it sounds to me that he'd be loaned out somewhere in Europe where they are playing right now, not an overseas loan for a team who won't be playing at all for several more months.

Now depending on how it goes, he might be available closer to our season starting, but right now it doesn't look like that's going to happenb
