Thanks Mikey. Bye the way, I'm planning on being in Raleigh the weekend of Sept. 6,7. I'm thinking of going to the Battery/Railhawks game on the 6th. Are any of you guys going to the game?

I am not sure this needs to be said, but the Battery really need this match in an attempt to get some mojo back for the stretch run in the 1.USL... I know the team has not been 100% of late, though.

I think, at home, this match right is a Battery victory!

    Congrats guys!

I still remember your wonderful contingent that made their way here in 2004. You guys were awesome.

Now beat the 4th Reich for us Fire fans'. It's been too long for a USL club.

Congratulation boys! celebrate this win Its a historic one for the club and USL!

Now we have the Coffee Pot Cup and the USOC all in one match!!!

and now that we have won,I'll talk about cost of getting up there.

Plane tickets to DC are starting around $240 rd trip, Amtrak to DC $170 rd trip. 8 hour drive ...

I wonder what a bus would cost??

    I will be there somehow....

    :D

The only 'weather' night that topped this one was the cancelled one against KC in 2006 at Toyota Park. It made the Naperville 2004 weather-wise look like drizzle.

I hope we play you guys sometime in the future at Blackbaud in the USOC. I'll make the trip for sure just to pay homage to the Battery supporters who made the trip to our 'temporary' home in MLS.

I would've made it to Blackbaud in the last few years for a USL/A-League game if I was still dating the girl who has parents retired in Hilton Head.

Anyhow I'm pulling for you guys. Big time.

Woo-Hoo, but your game updates were giving me a damn heart attack! Way to keep them in the game to get your maximum minutes-per-dollar ;)

I'm probably more excited about the prospect of keeping the Coffee Pot than winning the Open Cup :D:D

Mikey dont worry we took good care of your flags tonight...lol. Was surprised how big the crowd was considering the rain and the possibility of rain...we know how the Charlestonians are when it comes to weather (ie Vancouver game when like 20 ppl were in the stands). Great atmosphere and game...nail biting to the end!

Who else is going to make the march up I-95 to RFK to see the Battery become the 3rd USL team to make the Champions League :p

Fantastic win for the Charleston Battery. Now, on to the championship! I really hated to see that match end in PKs, but you could see that every player on that pitch gave everything they had and then some.

I am very, very curious what the Battery could do against DC United. It should be a decent match all around, although I wish it were in Charleston so I could find a way to sneak down for it.

I knew I should have bought a Battery trikot while I was there for a match!

Great broadcast of the match last night on USL Live. I enjoyed it. With the championship being on Fox Soccer Channel, I will have a way to see it as well since a road trip is unfortunately out of the question.

Alonso was IMMENSE last night. Great result. Was fun to see so many people at the game (just wish they were a bit more vociferous in their support of the team).

Should be able to get to the Cup final as I go to college in Richmond va.
