they may not fly in the sams army section.....but lets have a few for the La Norte section...

    here are my ideas

a dollar for your country (to the tune of "You'll never beat the US")

    or

    ....eng-a-land, eng-a-land, eng-a-land.....
(to the "here we go" tune)

funny...all my tunes are referenced to soccer ones....

It's not the La Norte section, it's the USA Supporters Section. We're just bringing our USA banner. I encourage other supporter clubs to bring their USA banners as well.

    Probably not. We usually sing:

Vamos Estados Unidos, esta tarde, tenemos que ganar

    and

    Dale dale dale U-S-A
    Dale dale dale U-S-A
    Dale Dale ooohhh

The "Ole" song goes as follows:

    Ole, ole ole ole
    U-S-AAAA-U-S-A

The first one should be fun because it's a direct ripoff the Argentina's theme during the 1978 World Cup.

The peso chant is funny. But keep in mind that the U.S. dollar has been collapsing over the last couple of months and hasn't done much better than Argentina's currency. The ultimate indignity I guess!

At present, though, the Argentinian peso is only worth 32 cents (US).

US 1, Argentina 3 (currency conversion rate)
US 3, Artentina 1 (goal conversion rate)

[Edit: I actually have a sign idea, but don't have any website to which I can upload the picture ...)

Well, it loses it's effect when verbalized, but take an Argentinian flag and spray-paint on it:

    "Will play for food!"

So nobody is proposing to sing anything from Evita. I figures " Don't Cry for Me Argentina " would be the most popular chant.

Sing it while wearing a Madonna mask. That will really get their attention.

Ok, Americans. I must say your imagination is lacking. Let me give you some help. You have to come up with something witty but hurtful. If I was on your side I would think of something like this: (To be chanted as a comeback to an Argentine song insulting the USA).

    Hey, Argentina...
    your act is getting old...
First you call us (bleepin') Yankees
Then you beg us for a loan

This will probably get you the best form of respect that fans bestow on worthy opponents. A song about their mother.

WTF, DP? You are sleeping with the enemy?

Anyway, that is a pathetic effort. I can think of a comeback in about two seconds. Anything along the lines of:

'La guita que no nos dieron, se la meten en el culo!'.

(The money you didn't lend us, you can shove it up your ASS!)

No offense, Americans. I should explain what DP should know already. The dueling songs is an old gaucho tradition in which part of the skill is not to leave yourself open to an easy comeback by your antagonist. Of course, Argentine football fans adopted the tradition and adapted it to their needs by adding lots of profanity.

You have to understand that in the sick mindset of the argentine 'barras bravas', anytime that they can say they shoved something up somebody's a** it somehow proves their manhood. I guess it is a cultural thing.

    We did before the game:

    Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is we'll always beat you
    In Payasandu, at RFK
    And we'll beat you today

Once the game kicked off, it didn't make much sense to sing it again. :(
