We were talking a long time ago, both here and on the Wizards site forums, about chant sheets... I think it's time to step up and do it, so I'm going to volunteer. I'm going to take about ten chants, put them on a sheet of paper that we're going to have the Wizards hand out as the parking flyer. That way we can finally get some decent noise going in the 'Head. I'm also wanting EVERY chant that we might do, so I can put up a website (to be advertised on the flyer and in PA announcements) for fans who want to be real fans. Yes, this includes the "non-PC" chants (Wings of a Sparrow, etc.) which will be put in a somewhat age protected area. So I need some help... There was a list of chants from kcwizards.com that I will post, and there was some talk of having a chant for every player. Was there any further work on that? Please post any of the chants you can think of, and if you'd rather keep the adult-friendly ones off the boards, you can PM them to me.

The Mystics still have wizardfan.com registered for another year.... If I remember correctly, whoever was running the site graduated and lost access to the server where it was being hosted. But no point in registering a new domain name when that one is already registered & in need of a home...

Some of these really have to be heard to be understood.... For example, it doesn't do much good to see the words to Olé because there's only one word... (Granted, everybody should know that one.) But the same goes for "Here we go" and the "italian" song. If somebody really does get a web page going for these, it would be cool to have some sound clips.
Technical niceties... Thanks for the interest. This idea has actually spawned a paper that I'm going to be working on for this fall. As an aside, I love my Sport Admin. major. I get to do academic papers about a really fun topic. Back on topic. Sound shouldn't be a problem. We've got a microphone that has a constant feed at the games, it's easy to take that feed, record it at a fairly high quality, then turn it into an .mp3 or other format. wizardfan.com is the preferable domain, and I would love to have access to that site. I'm not sure if I can maintain the entire site, but I would definitely be interested in partnering with someone. Yahoo! has a decent (read: cheap) web-hosting setup, and I am also looking at other options. Since the Mystics still have the rights to the name, I think we should definitely get cracking on finding a host and a couple of people who will be dedicated to keeping the site fresh. I would volunteer because I have the desire, but living in Wichita makes access to the day-to-day operations of the team a dicey proposition at best. I'm happy to work on the look-and-feel, and the chant section of the site, but team reports, etc. isn't necessarily my bag. I plan to be at the first-look practice and would like to talk with like-minded people about getting this project off the ground, especially since we have the backing of the front office on this one. We've been looking for a way to make the 'Head really rock, and now that we've got a chance, let's not squander it.
If you need help with more frequent updates, html, fpt'ing or graphics work let me know I'd be glad to volunteer my help on this. I currently manage a few very large web sites and teach web. dev. for MU as an adjunct so let me know how I can assist.
