Well considering the votes ended up 50/50, it would be pretty bad to put up "Keep telling us we're boring, but we'll keep on scoring" during the middle of the streak, you know the one where we got shut out and also gave up like 20 goals a game? It also is pretty boring to put up "Missouri Azzuri: 2000 MLS Champs" cause then we sound just like DC fans, living in the past.
Wait until the end of this season and then write something that talks about our forthcoming successes
Annoying... but effective. Those of us who made the Chicago road trip in 2000, or the trip to MLS Cup last fall are well aware of how they get much of the rest of the crowd involved. Are we trying to chant a bunch of semi-obscure things known only to ourselves, or are we trying to get the entire stadium singing and chanting? The BarnBurners have bought into the Iggy Pop plan. Very few words, used in simple patterns. The kicker is their call and response, "Who's the best?". Sure, it's annoying, but it works. I wish we were that annoying.
We are, clap clap, KC Wiz hrm.. Maybe nobody remembers the Wiz, I guess that is obscure. clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap Wizards Yup... must be an inside joke or something...
Yeah. But how often do you do this chant, and are the others similar? Seriously. Try doing that chant for 90 minutes about 3 games in a row. Chanting "We are ... KC Wiz" a few times during the game isn't going to do anything.
Most of the ones we do aren't that complicated. The clap clap,...Wizards, We are..., Oh when the Wiz..., Ole ole ole... Italian chant, etc. are the majority of the things we do. The We hate Colorado, and Wings of a sparrow, are only done once a match.
