Liverpool are set to call two new faces into pre-season training at Melwood https://www.thisisanfield.com/2019/...ew-faces-into-pre-season-training-at-melwood/
I agree it is too short. many ppl say these top athletes don't need more rest but imo while that may be true as far as the physical aspects are concerned, I don't think enough attention is paid to the need for a mental break from the game. eg TAA and Virgil and Gini will get - what? - 5 or max 6 weeks real break, after being under daily pressure / scrutiny for 9+ months? that's crazy. for many guys it will start to take a toll once Feb / March rolls around, but won't be measurable with a stopwatch or a heart monitor.

The Liverpool Echo claim the joint-Premier League Golden Boot winner will miss six pre-season friendlies and the whole of the Reds’ tour of the USA.
I wonder if Firmino will get the same break after the today’s Copa America final. He might not need as long of a break because he missed a lot due to injury at the end of the season. Mane will probably miss all of preseason because Senegal is advancing in AFCON. I’m especially excited to see Rihan Brewster in these early preseason games. If he impresses he will likely be starting the Community Shield.
All 7 of our preseason friendlies will be available on the Bleacher Report app and two games will be on TNT. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...summer-tour-matches-coming-to-br-live-and-tnt
Lactate test starts around the 6:15 mark. Fabinho, Matip, Lallana, Milner, Ox, Gomez. Who wins? Who drops first?
I’ve already seen it - but - I knew it was going to _____ - before it even started. I think we all should get this one right on the winner.
Here is the team news for Tranmere. The match kicks off in an hour. 1st half : Mignolet, Clyne, Phillips, Gomez, Larouci, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Kent, Wilson, Brewster. 2nd half: Jaros, Hoever, Matip, Johnston, Lewis, Fabinho, Jones, Woodburn, Duncan, Glatzel, Origi.
Clyde? I’d completely forgotten about him. So, we have no need to rush and buy another fullback, then, surely.
