We're back to the ground where we won it all...though this team doesnt need to be motivated playing the best attacking football I have ever seen us play. Bosingwa is out of this one and may be covered by Fucile let's see what happens...I am hoping for two goals in Germany...Forca Dragoes!

According to UEFA.com Joao Paulo is RD, Fucile on the left and Farias is starting, not Tarik.

what is the formation? 4-3-3? and who's playing striker Lisandro or Farias?

when both Lisandro and Farias play, Farias is the lone striker with Lisandro cheating from either wing. I like this formation alot better than Lisandro being the lone striker. Although teams are now much more aware of Lisandro, he will still find ways to sneak on you out of nowhere.

    From UEFA's site:

FC Porto return to the Arena AufSchalke, scene of their triumph in the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League final, looking to continue the good form which saw them win Group A to reach this stage. The Portuguese champions will be wary of a FC Schalke 04 side making their first appearance in the knockout stages of the competition after finishing runners-up in Group B.

that's what I thought, Lisandro is much more effective on the wing than Farias would be , thanks porkchop and Forca Poooooooorto!

Yes, I paid $9.95 to watch this game. Not sure if that means I can watch the other matches as well. The quality is terrific though.

Bad start by Porto and looked very shaky at the back (especially Fucile) but as the half wore on Porto started regaining control and pressuring Schalke more. I believe the momentum of this game is slowly shifting towards porto's favour. I have hope that we will come away from this with at least a draw.

I'd like to see Tarik come in for the 2nd half. Bosingwa's absense is extremely notable in this one.

Joao Paulo has no business starting in RB...Ferreira shoulda started Fucile on the right and Cech at LB. Porto looking to slow on the ball...bring on Tarik, Farias looking useless out there.

indeed we miss Bosingwa alot today and when you combine that w/ Fucile's shaky D today, things don't look good. I mentioned to my friend before the game started, I'd take a 1-1 score from this game, and now, more than ever, that would be a good score for Porto...

the problem is Cech's speed, or lack there of. He's a better player in the midfield.
Farias doesn't have much help today, Quaresma is not at his game and neither is Lisandro, so no matter who you had upfront in the 1st half you'd be saying the same exact thing about him. Meanwhile Lisandro had Porto's only good chance to score in he 1st half.

Porto finally seem to be playing with a sense of urgency, although they haven't had many quality chances.

Hopefully we can slip one through and leave Germany with a tie.

That was a "gimmie" Lisandro should have had. After that sad miss, we kept pressing with some good pressure but alas to no avail.

    1-0 final for Schalke.

We will be better at home.

I'm a little surprised that the Tripeiros couldn't do a little better against this Schalke side that hasn't been too impressive this year.

Good pressure in the second half from the Tripeiros but to no avail.

I guess Gelsenkirchen isn't that much of a good luck charm:rolleyes:
