Champion's league rooting for DC fans...

Of course, assuming that John O'Brien gets healthy again, I'll be pulling for Ajax.

    But in Group D

    Group D:
    Manchester United
    Juventus
    La Coruña
    FC Basel

I think I'll need to root for FC Basel, surprisingly through to the 2nd round, after putting out no less than Michael Owen and Liverpool on Tuesday.

Good choice! DCUnited does have at least one supporter that I know in Switzerland - Simeon Monney!

I won't have that team's name mentioned in my house! There ain't no FC Basel, and there never will be. The UEFA Cup is a major trophy. The Nile is just a river in Egypt.

But, if Newcastle could somehow pull it out we could boast how we thrashed the Champion's League winners.

It is simple for me. Any team not from Spain or Italy.

Group A: Barcelona, Inter Milan, Bayer Leverkusen, Newcastle.
    Newcastle
Group B: Valencia, Arsenal, Roma, Ajax
    Ajax
Group C: Real Madrid, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Lokomotiv Moscow.
    Borussia Dortmund
Group D: Manchester United, Juventus, Deportivo La Coruna, Basle
    Man U.

Now that is not who I think will win but who I am pulling for.

Actually it goes by many names:

    Football
    Futbol
    Fussball
    Calcio
Football (but with a bad French accent)
Soccer (The Irish think football is some Gaelic game)
    etc...

I second that. I saw Ajax play on ESPN this past tuesday and they are a very entertaining team. I'm trying to develop an interest in at least one or two European teams to pull for when USMNT and D.C. aren't playing, but I don't usually feel anything when I watch them. I really did enjoy Ajax though.

This is actually not on the cliff of off-topictude...this thread has entered the Valley in the Shadow of Off-Topictude...

Not only that but people think some second rate Dutch team will actually make it out of group two and not the mighty team from London that won the Double last season and beat the league leaders from the Netherlands 4-0 on aggregate... Right-eeo then... Ya'll must be smoking some Barry classics...

In addition, the above people can all be grouped into Those Not on Revelation's Holiday Gift List!... :) Have a nice day... ;)

    Oh geez........

Ok, I can see Valencia topping the group, but Ajax? Not enough experience. And what have Italian clubs done recently in the CL? Hm? Nothing, that's what.

    1. Valencia
    2. Arsenal
    3. Ajax
    4. Roma

    Come on SAB!

There's three other groups to be concerned with.

There is now way Roma finishes 4th in this group.

FC Basel for CL-Winner!!!! I was in the Stadium last Thuesday vs. Liverpool FC. It was a incredible game.... after 45 min. Basel lead's 3:0 (what the ************, am i dreaming?) But in the 86. minute Liverpool scorred the 3:3! Shock, we need one point to reach the second group stage, where is the final whistle? But after 3 heart attacks we were qualified. :D

PS: @DC United, it's not a shame to lose vs. FC Basel :D

    greets from CL-City Basel.....
