    Useless info:

Liverpool have met Chelsea in each of the last five seasons in the Champions League.

The team drawn at home in the first leg on each of the last three meetings in the knockout stages has been eliminated.

Liverpool have played Chelsea 23 times in four-and-a-half seasons since Rafael Benitez arrived on Merseyside, winning seven and losing 10.

Fernando Torres has scored five goals in his five appearances against the Blues.

Didier Drogba has scored in his last four Champions League matches.

Chelsea have scored the most headed goals, five.

Liverpool have scored the most goals from set-piece situations, seven.

Chelsea have got the most prolific defenders, four goals in nine games so far.

Chelsea have been caught offside in the competition more than any other team so far - 38 times.

The Blues have conceded the most fouls, 160.

On only three occasions has a team come back from two goals behind after the first leg to reach the next round in the Champions League - Chelsea were involved in one of those when in 2000 they won 3-1 at home against Barcelona before suffering a 1-5 defeat in Spain.

Chelsea have never conceded three goals at home in the Champions League.

Liverpool have scored three or more goals in Champions League away games on six occasions, last time against PSV in December 2008.

Liverpool have never won an away game against another English side in Champions League.

Let's seal the deal. Pool don't have the players to play like Bolton, and they need to go all out.

Just score a goal or two, and try not to get any yellow cards. I'm nervous about this game.

The odds are definitely in our favour, Teams winning the first leg 3-1 away historically have a 97% chance of advancing to the next stage.

    ;)

Although I'm not sure what you're displaying shock at, as it could be the idea of Ivanovic playing up front by himself or Deco being in the line-up at all.

Why would Hiddink change his starting lineup, with the exception of Terry, to the one that defeated Pool away? Why would he play a defender as a lone striker? So the most likely starting eleven is likely to be.............Cech, Ivanovic, Alex, Carvalho, Cole, Ballack, Essien, Lampard, Kalou, Drogba and Malouda.

Of course. We gave up 3 goals to Bolton ffs.........in 8 minutes. This is Liverpool and we don't have Terry.

    Anything can happen.

So how do you think Benitez will play Gerrard. I can't see him playing him in the center again after what happened last match. Might we see Gerrard played wider? And if so, will that even matter? As we know that Essien is more than capable of drifting out wide.

Very interesting to see how they lineup, they NEED the goals, but Benitez isn't one to like to start of with attacking open play, but this time I think he has to. Can't see him playing 5 in the midfield, as when that happens we get the yawning 0-0 or 1-0 game.
Maybe a surprise start from Babel? Kuyt putting on one of those heartfilled games in which he runs runs and keep running?
Also how attacking will they play, as one goal from us is almost fatal. But with Terry out, and them seeing what Bolton did to us in 10 minutes, they must feel confident that they can nick a couple easilly.

This is going to be a VERY exciting match!

Can't catch this game, unfortunately, but I hope Hiddink has warned the team about complacency. Liverpool's a pretty good team and could easily put 6 past us instead of three if we fall asleep like we did against Bolton. I'd like to see a lineup like this:

    Cech
    Ivanovic-Carvalho-Terry-A.Cole
    Essien
    Mikel
    Lampard
    Kalou-Drogba-Malouda
    Mikel instead of Ballack. ;)

Still nervous, even if we had 21 on aggregate I'd still be nervous.

JT was one of the reasons why Boltan came back. This suspension is good for him. He needs some time off.
