Have to wonder if his knee isn't worse off than we think, or if he has done something to get in the doghouse. Seems odd that he wouldnt get on this game.

That's what i don't get as well. Maybe Ancelotti didn't want 3 subs on the pitch who haven't played alot. That's the only thing I can think of.

Didn't you hear about that affair Joe Cole had with Ancelotti's wife?

I thought he lost a lot of balls that were completely unnecessary, and really didnt put much effort in defensively. He is a great passer at times, but I think he doesn't put in enough on the other end to be anything more than an impact sub.

    ???

He was a bit of an enigma today, as was Ballack (no offense lol).

Joe Cole should have been on absolutely no doubt at the start of the second (or at least Zhirkov playing the wide left position Deco was at).

I believe this should be printed on the back of Deco's jersey.

    :D lol....

Ballack should not have played but hey, no complaints from me - 4 goals another cleansheet and 3 points.

Have to wonder if Aguero is going to be so determined to stay next summer. Atletico really are in shambles right now.

Great result for us after a poor first half. Drogs will be back. Quick thoughts on the players (keep in mind i missed the first 20-25 minutes)

Kalou had some horrible misses but he scored two to essentially put the game away. I think he is not as effective as he used to be, but he does have the rare moments where he can score some crucial goals. Still wouldnt mind seeing him replaced but glad to have him today.

Lampard was great today, getting a great goal, and should get credit for the assist on Kalou's goal as he played a great ball in to a surging Cole. Glad to see him score.

Defense played well, particularly Terry and Cole I thought. Ashley has just been immense this season. If he can keep this play up all season he will definately be a challenger for player of the year (It's Drogs to lose right now though IMO)

Would have liked to see Zhirkov in attack but understand the decision. Thought Joey should have come on instead of Malouda though. Do managers forget that he is just as good (or maybe better) on the left? Glad to see Sturridge come on and was unlucky to get brought down from behind.

Not sure how there wasn't a red on that tackle as it looked like Sturridge beat the last man but maybe I missed him. Either way, a open opportunity and gets taken down from behind. Very unlucky.

Thought Maxi Rodriquez was the best player for them. Almost had one, and really caused some chaos on a couple occasions. Aguero was quiet, and missed a great opportunty when he got the breakaway off a lucky bounce.

Without Drogba, Anelka plays as a winger, which makes no sense.
